    Mrs. Christian Horne passed away late Sunday afternoon, Aug. 19,1934, at her home on the 2nd Conc. of Wallace, in her 68th year, following illness of the past few years. She had been confined to her bed for the past month suffering with heart trouble.

    Mrs. Horne, whose maiden name was Lavina Hallman, was born on March 18, 1867 in Wallace, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. I. Hallman, pioneer residents of the district. She was married Nov. 26, 1889 and during the early period of her married life she resided in Listowel, the past 28 years having been spent on the farm in Wallace Tp.

    Surviving are her husband, 5 daughters and one son, Mrs. Nelson Klemmer of Anglia, Saskatchewan, Mrs. Edwin Treitz and Mrs. Isaac Matthews, Wallace, Mrs. Earl Coghlin, Elma Tp., Mrs. Wm. Anderson, of Maryboro, and Mr. Wilfred Horne at home. There are also 8 grandchildren, 3 brothers and 2 sisters, Mr. Isaiah Hallman, Wallace, Mr. Menno Hallman, Chilliwack, B.C., Mr. Ephraim Hallman, Vancouver, B.C., Mrs. John Liesemer of Didsbury, Alberta, Mrs. George Dippel of Kitchener.

    Being of a kind and quiet disposition, the deceased lady was beloved by a large circle of friends, who were sorry to hear of her demise. She was a member of Calvary Evangelical Church, Listowel.

    The funeral, which was largely attended, was held from the family residence, 2nd Conc. of Wallace, on Wed. Aug. 22, with service at the home at 1:30 o'clock, followed by public service in Calvary Evang. church at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. E. H. Bean conducted the service and was assisted by a former pastor, Rev. L. H. Wagner of Roseville, Interment was made in Fairview Cemetery.

    Floral tributes were: Gates Ajar, from the family; sprays from Evang. Sunday School, Sunday school class, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Dippel of Kitchener, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Cooper, the Coghlin family, the Rothwell family, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Binning, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Ament, Miss Lillian and Mr. W. Horne, Toronto; wreath, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Horne and family. Flower bearers were Messrs. Norman McDowell, Mervyn Fisher, Abner Fisher, Earl Hallman, Grant Bowman, Harold Good, Alvin Horne, and Clayton Good. Pallbearers were Messrs. Isaiah Hallman, Geo. Dippel, Henry Horne, Henry Fisher, Wm. Good and John Bender.

    Relatives attending the funeral from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Wm Dickson, Miss Margaret Opfer, Mrs. Wm Ament, Toronto; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Graviston, Tavistock; Mr and Mrs. Geo. Dippel, Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Fisher, Kitchener."

    Della E. Treitz of Listowel died Oct. 16, 1987 at Listowel Memorial Hospital. she was 94. Mrs. Treitzwas born Feb. 14, 1893 in Listowel. She was the daughter of the late Christian and Lavina (Hallman) Horne. She married Edwin O. Treitz on Jan.15, 1913 in Wallace Township. He predeceased her in 1982. Mrs. Treitz lived in Wallace Tp. most of her life before moving to Listowel in 1949.She was a member of Calvary United Church where she taught Sunday School and was a choir member for many years. She is survived by two sons: Kenneth and Audrey of Goderich, Charles and Maureen of Listowel. Also survived by three sisters: Mrs. Irene Anderson of Elora, Mrs. Verna Coghlin of Listowel and Mrs. Mabel Klemmer of Saskatchewan, and 6 grand and 8 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one brother Wilfred Horne and one sister Mrs. Viola Matthews and one grandson Paul. Funeral service will be held today (Wednesday) at the Robert Trench Funeral Home with Rev. Cecil Wittich presiding. Pallbearers will be Harry Bell, Bill Binning, Harold Good, Bert Hastings, Fraser Lynn and Jack Manning. Internment in Fairview.

    Wilfred H. Horne of Mapleton Manor, Listowel died on Dec. 26 at Listowel Memorial Hospital. He was 82.

    Mr. Horne was born on Feb. 6, 1897 in Listowel to the late Christian Horne and his late wife, the former Lavina Hallman.

    Mr. Horne was married to the former Mabel Bowman who died in June 1979. They were married on June 20, 1928 in Listowel. They resided in WallaceTp. before moving to Listowel in 1955.

    Mr. Horne was a farmer and a member of Calvary United Church and a member of the Listowel Legion Branch 259.

    He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Earl (Marjorie) Hawthorne of Kitchener; four sisters, Mrs. Ed (Della) Treitz of Listowel, Mrs. Mabel Klemmer of Saskatchewan, Mrs. Earl (Verna) Coghlin of Listowel, and Mrs.Irene Anderson of Elora; three grandchildren, Douglas, Gary and Laurie.

    Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by one sister....Fairview Cemetery..."

    A pretty autumn wedding was solemnized at 2p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11 at the Evangelical Parsonage, Listowel, when Miss Irene Horne became the bride of William Thomas Anderson, son of Mr.and Mrs. David Anderson of Maryboro. Rev. H. L. Wagner officiated. The bride was becomingly gowned in shell pink georgette with shoulder bouquet of pink and white carnations. They were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Fraser Long of Maryboro. After a wedding supper which was served at the home of the bride's parents to immediate relatives, the happy couple left amid a shower of confetti for a trip to Kitchener and other points. The bride travelled in a brown crepe dress, brown broadcloth coat with beaver collar and accessories to match. On returning they will reside on the groom's farm on the 6th Conc. of Maryboro

    "TREITZ, Charles Elgin (Charlie) - Passed away, Monday, May 15, 2000, at St. Mary's General Hospital, Kitchener, in his 81st year.

    Born in Wallace township, Perth County, on Jan. 21, 1920, he was a son of the late Edwin O. Treitz and Della E. Horne. With his wife Maureen, he took over his father's farm on the 3rd of Wallace and farmed there for 30 years, then moved to Listowel and worked at the Midwestern Regional Children's Centre, until his retirement in 1985.

    Survived by his four daughters, Donna and her husband Mike Phillips,Carol and her husband Rob Phillips, Cathy Jenkins and Mary Treitz, all of Kitchener-Waterloo and his brother, Ken Treitz and his wife Audrey of Goderich; also survived by five grandchildren, Laurie Phillips and her husband Marcos Kroeker, Scott Phillips, Steve Jenkins and Kris and Jen Whyte and by his sister-in-law Alma Scott of Midland. He leaves behind numerous loving friends and relatives with whom he had a great many laughs over the years and especially Doreen Whitfield, Marion and Neil Forman and Paul and Sherry Berfelz who provided constant friendship and support.

    Predeceased by his loving wife, Maureen Scott in 1993 and a dear son-in-law Chris Jenkins in 1994. Charlie was an avid member and past president of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 259 and a drummer for 25years in the Listowel Legion Pipe Band. Always proud of his daughters and their accomplishments, he fostered a love of music and laughter that lives on in his children and grandchildren.     Donna Elaine (Treitz) Phillips, February 20th 1946 - April 8, 2020. at her home in Port Dover on April 8, 2020, at the age of 74. Donna the wife of Michael J. Phillips Jr. for 52 years.

    Daughter of Charlie and Maureen (Scott) Treitz of Listowel. She was raised in Listowel ON, on a dairy farm "on the third" as she would say. She was one of the Treitz girls, who would entertain in the community by singing in harmony with her 3 sisters. Donna moved to Kitchener in 1965 and started working at Dominion Life Insurance. It was at this time that she met the love of her life, Mike. They were married July 6, 1968 and together they raised 2 wonderful children.

    Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
