    Mrs. Simon Rickert - Mrs. Simon Rickert, 75, of 140 Weber St. East, died today at her home after a lengthy illness. The former Melinda Hallman, she was born in Waterloo Township, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Hallman. She married Simon Rickert at Mannheim 51 years ago and the couple farmed there for many years. She was a member of Alma St. United Brethren Church. In addition to her husband, she leaves three sons, Clayton, Breslau; Ivan and Earl, Kitchener; and three daughters, Mrs. Aaron (Pearl) Duench, Petersburg; Mrs. John (Myrtle) Poore, Preston; and Mrs. Grace Ballingall, Kitchener. Also surviving are four brothers, Josiah Hallman, Kitchener; Jonathan Hallman, Mannheim; Simon Hallman, Rosebank; Aaron Hallman, Vineland; three sisters, Miss Lydia Hallman, Mrs. Edwin Witmer, and Mrs. Isaac Brighton, all of Kitchener, 22 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The body is resting at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until 1 p.m. Monday when it will be taken to Alma St. United Brethren Church for the funeral at 2: 30 p.m., conducted by Rev. Ward Woolner. Interment will be in Woodland Cemetery.

    DUENCH, Mrs. Pearl - At K-W Hospital, on Tuesday, July 19, 1988, in her 88th year, Pearl Duench, late of 202-302 Erb St. W., Waterloo. Beloved wife of the late Aaron Duench. Loving mother to Arnold and his wife Martha of Kitchener, Jim and his wife Diane of Cambridge. She will be dearly missed by her 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her brothers, Clayton Rickert of Port Charlotte, Fla., Ivan Rickert of Waterloo, Earl Rickert of Kitchener and by her sister, Grace Ballingal of Waterloo. She is predeceased by her sister, Myrtle Poore. Mrs. Duench was born in Mannheim, Ont. and farmed in that area with her husband, until 1959 when they moved to Waterloo. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Visitation at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home and Chapel, 51 Benton at Church St., will start after 7 p.m. on Wednesday (today) and continue until noon on Friday, July 22, 1988 when transfer will be made to St. John's Lutheran Church for funeral services at 2 p.m. Interment is at Memory Gardens, Breslau.

Y., George of Guelph, Philip of Cambridge, Larry of Kitchener, Betty (Mrs. William St. Croix) of St. Catharines, Isabelle (Mrs. Jack Gambling), Shirley (Mrs. Wilfred Main), Margaret (Mrs. William King), all of Cambridge and Jacqueline (Mrs. Donald Hill) of Waterloo. Predeceased by a daughter, Ruth in 1969; sons, Harold in 1946 and David in 1939. Mrs. Poore is survived by three brothers, Clayton of Port Charlotte, Fla., Ivan of Kitchener and Earl of Kitchener; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Duench of Waterloo and Mrs. Grace Ballingall of Kitchener. Also survived by 51 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Poore was a member of King Street Baptist Church, the Bertha Kirschke Mission Circle and resided in Cambridge (P) since 1939. She will be missed by all who knew her sunny disposition and her lovely smile. Resting at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge, until noon Tuesday, then to King Street Baptist Church, for funeral services at 2 p.m. Interment in Parklawn cemetery.

    RICKERT, Earl H. - It is with sincere sadness, the family wishes to announce the passing of Earl Rickert, after a brief, but courageous struggle with cancer, on Tuesday, August 16, 1994, at K-W Hospital, in his 80th year. Earl was a most loving and devoted husband of Irene (nee Gowing) with whom he shared 57 wonderful years. He is also survived by his two sons, William and his wife Karen, Armand and his wife Anita; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a sister, Grace Ballingall. He will be sadly missed by his close relatives, including many nieces and nephews and also by an especially close circle of loving friends.

    He was predeceased by two brothers, Clayton and Ivan and two sisters, Pearl Duench and Myrtle Poore. Earl was a lifelong resident of the Kitchener area, but also enjoyed the time that he could spend gardening or fishing, with friends and relatives, at the family cottage located near Wiarton. Earl enjoyed 30 years of service at the K-W Hospital and retired in 1985. Friends and relatives may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday at 11 am, with Rev. Vern Trafford officiating. Reception to follow in the Ratz-Bechtel Family centre.

Beloved husband of Sandy McKay; dear father of Perry and his wife Paulette of Windsor, James and his wife Augusta Marie, Brian and his friend Bonnie Paulitzki, Tina and her fiance Eddie Quinlan, and Tracy and her husband Blair Ryan, all of Cambridge. Lovingly remembered by seven grandchildren. Also survived by three brothers, Donald and his wife Donna of New York, USA., George and his wife Dorothy of Branchton, Larry and his wife Ina of Kitchener and five sisters, Betty St. Croix of St. Catharines, Isabelle Gambling, Shirley and her husband Wilfred Main, Marg and her husband William King, all of Cambridge and Jackie Hill of Carrying Place, Ont. Predeceased by his parents, John and Myrtle Poore; two brothers, Harold and David and one sister, Ruth. Phil was born in Cambridge and had been a lifelong resident of the area. He retired as an automatic press operator at Butler Metals and was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. Friends will be received at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge, on Sunday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, April 1, 1996, at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Nazarene, 1332 Hamilton St., Cambridge, with Rev. Glenn Reeder officiating. Interment in Parklawn Cemetery, Cambridge.

    MAIN, Ray

    It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ray John Main on October 22, 2015. Ray was born on March 29, 1955 in the Galt Hospital. His mother was Shirley Jean Poore born in Plattsville. His father was Wilfred George Main, born in Sheffield. He graduated from Preston High School and worked for Canada Post all his life receiving several awards for outstanding customer service. He umpired for many years in the Cambridge Minor Baseball Association and was honoured as Umpire of the Year in 2007 and given a Lifetime Achievement Award for 20 years of service at the Toyota Tyke Tournament. Ray was a member of the King Street Baptist Church and loved Jesus with all his heart, serving Him as a Deacon, Treasurer and Joyful voice in the choir and praise team. A puzzle was always on the table, the larger the better. Ray is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Debbie and his four sons, Christopher (Jeyran), Peter (Becki), Geoffrey and Daniel, and his loved grandchildren, Zakaria, Tia, Kyrin, Clark and Ethanael. He will be greatly missed by his brothers and sisters, Neil (Donna), Glen (Karen), Teresa (Ross) and Cathy (Shawn), and many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Barthel Funeral Home , 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge Ontario, N3H 3J8, (519) 653-3251, from 2: 00 - 4: 00 p.m. and 7: 00 - 9: 00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2015, at 11: 00 a.m. at the King Street Baptist Church, 361 King St. East, Cambridge Ontario, N3H 3M7.
