ALDERSON, Claude Reginald - Peacefully, with his daughter by his side, on Thursday, September 21, 2006 at Allendale Long Term Care Facility, Milton, in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of the late Norma (nee MacKinnon), cherished father of Barbara (Bruce Whitehead), also survived by Bruce's son Christopher Whitehead, and brother-in-law Keith MacKinnon (Anne). Predeceased by his brother John (Jack). He will be fondly remember by his extended family and many friends. Claude had a long and active life, enjoying many sports, including football, hockey, skiing and golf. A longtime member of the Summerlea Golf club, he continued to golf until he was almost 80. During W.W.II he served as Lieutenant with the 2nd Canadian Infantry Division. He participated in many community activities throughout his life, including as a Councillor and later Mayor of Hespeler (now part of Cambridge). Claude worked as a comptroller with Artex Woollens, Hespeler, and later as Secretary-Treasurer at the head office (Satexil Inc.) in Montreal until his mid-seventies. Our special thanks to the staff at Allendale for the kindness and care they showed to Claude during these past months. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has been arranged with interment at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at a later date. Funeral arrangements entrusted to J. Scot Early Funeral Home, 21 James St., Milton, Ont., 905-878-2669.
