Biehn. - Mary U. Bowman, beloved wife of Aaron S. Biehn, near Guernsey, Sask., passed away on Sept. 25, 1924; aged 61 y. 1 m. She was born in Waterloo Co., Ont., Aug. 26, 1863. On Oct. 24, 1882, she was married to Bro. Biehn. This union was blessed with 5 sons and 1 daughter. In the year 1905 they moved to Saskatchewan, where they resided till her demise. Five weeks before she died she was found to have a cancer of the stomach, and with much suffering yet with Christian fortitude she calmly awaited her end. Her sick chamber was a scene of inspiration to those privileged to visit with her, as she was rejoicing in the prospect of her coming glory. Valuable parting admonitions were given to her children. The services at the house were conducted by I. S. Rosenberger, and at the Sharon Mennonite Church by Henry Bartel in German and E. S. Hallman in English. Text, I Cor. 15: 51,52. The remains were laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery.

He was married to Cora Smithson who predeceased him 8 years ago. He is survived by 1 daughter (Laura), 1 son (Stanley), both of Saskatoon, Sask., and his father (Dea. Aaron Biehn of Sharon Mennonite Church near Guernsey), 4 brothers (Freeman, Clayton, Aaron of Guernsey, Sask.; Leander of Nacam, Sask.), 1 sister (Mrs. Clemens Snider of Guernsey, Sask.). In 1913 he was married to Elma Snyder, who survives. It is with sadness and thanksgiving for a life well lived, that we announce the passing of Verda Weber, on Monday, April 19, 2010 at the K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital age 92 years. Verda was a member of Erb St. Mennonite Church in Waterloo and volunteered her time at St. John's Soup Kitchen and the Breithaupt Centre Snack Counter for many years. Loving wife of the late Samuel W. Weber (September 8, 2006). Dear mother of Edith Shantz (Murray) of Baden, Dorothy Peterson (Larry) of Thunder Bay, Ruth Deyarmond (John) of Waterloo and Jan Bowman (Bryan) of Breslau. She will be sadly missed by eleven grandchildren, ten great- grandchildren, brothers Howard Snider (Marie) of Kansas and Orval Snider (Agnes) of Red Deer, Alberta. Pre- deceased by her granddaughter Michelle, sisters Elva Heintz and Audrey Snider. Friends and relatives are invited to share their memories during visitation on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Erb St. Mennonite Church 131 Erb St. W., Waterloo. Private family interment at Erb St. Mennonite Church Cemetery on Thursday morning April 22nd followed by a memorial service at Erb St. Mennonite Church at 11 a.m. with Rev. Eleanor Epp-Stobbe officiating.
