    William H. Oberer, 79, of RR 2, Kitchener, died Saturday at K-W Hospital after a brief illness. He had lived in Strasburg for the past three years, and previously had been a Kitchener resident for 20 years. He worked at the Hydro City Shoe Company for 20 years.

    Mr. Oberer was born Jan. 9, 1873, in Zurich, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Oberer. He was a member of Alma Street United Brethren Church. Surviving are his wife, the former Margaret Simpson whom he married here in 1917; two sons, Harlon and Russell, both of Strasburg; a brother, Edgar Oberer of Kitchener; three step-brothers, William Sahli of Kitchener, Edwin Sahli of Waterloo, and Alex Sahli of British Columbia; three sisters, Mrs. Andrew Bell of Plattsville, Mrs. Franklin MacDonald of Plattsville, and Mrs. Simon Heer of Kitchener; and four grandchildren.

    Edgar Oberer - Edgar Oberer, 43 Madison Ave. S., died Thursday at St. Mary's Hospital after a short illness. He was 74. Born in Rosebank, Wilmot Township, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Oberer. He was a lifelong resident of the Twin Cities area, where he was a furniture finisher. He was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters. Surviving are one son, Elmer of Barrie; one sister, Mrs. Simon (Lenora) Heer of Kitchener; three step-brothers and three grandchildren. The body is at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, Waterloo, where the service will be held Saturday at 2 pm with Rev. Paul Lieban of St. Timothy's Evangelical United Brethren Church officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Waterloo.

    Beloved wife of the late Clarence Eby. Loving mother of Kenneth and his wife Beulah of Kitchener and Elizabeth and her husband John Pulley of Holland Centre; proud grandmother of four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren: dear sister of Wilbert Ober and his wife Rita of Kitchener, Delores (Mrs. Bob Heimpel) of Fishermen's Cove, Jean (Mrs. Alvin Letson) of West Montrose and Violet (Mrs. Bill Walls) of Kincardine. Also survived by a sister-in-law, Arlene Ober of Kitchener. She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.

    Predeceased by her parents, Loreina and John Ober; by two brothers, Delton and Ron Ober and by two sisters, Beulah Ober and Lolay Querin.

    Mrs. Eby's family will receive friends and relatives at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Monday, May 3. 1999 at 11 a.m. Interment at Wilmot Centre Section Cemetery.

Beloved husband of Myrtle (nee Schiedel) Oberer for 65 years. Loving father of Elizabeth Koenig of Waterloo, Calvin Oberer (Mia) of Cambridge and Cameron Oberer (Sandy Westinghouse) of Calgary. Cherished Papa of Neil, Shawn, Russell Jr., Caroline and Andrea. Adored Great- Papa of Katie and Dougan. Survived by his brothers-in-law, Howard and Raymond Schiedel; and his sister-inlaw, Ruth Bauman and her husband Howard. Predeceased by his parents, Margaret and William Oberer; son-in- law, Ken Koenig; brothers, Harlon and Howard Oberer; and by his sisters- in-law, Helen and Bernice Schiedel. Russell worked at Dettmer Tire in Kitchener for 23 years. Russell's family will receive relatives and friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-748-8467, on Thursday, September, 10 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate Russell's life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, September 11, 2009 at 11 a.m. Reception to immediately follow the funeral service. He'll be missed by his children and grandchildren, Sandra Shantz, her husband Brian and their children Adam, Bradley and Luke; Carol Lawless, her husband Don and their children Josh, Katie and Marc. Ken is also remembered by his sister, Liz, her husband John and their family. He was predeceased in 1977 by his father, Clarence and in 1999 by his mother, Almeda. Born on June 15, 1927 and raised in Kitchener (Centerville), Ken retired in 1990 from Uniroyal-Goodrich after 45 years of loyal service. He enjoyed spending summers at Paul Bunyan Camp in Bayfield and gardening. He was an avid Jeopardy fan and a patient caregiver to Beulah for the last seven years. Ken's family will receive friends at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday from 12 noon - 1 p.m. A celebration of Ken's life will be held in the chapel of the funeral home, Saturday, September 28, 2002 at 1 p.m., with Harold Hildebrand Schlegel officiating. Ken's family thanks the 6th floor nursing and therapy staff as well as the Chateau Gardens staff and residents for their kindness and support.

    LETSON, Jean Elizabeth Passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital. Jean (Ober) Letson, at the age of 79 years, of Elmira, formerly of West Montrose. Dear wife of the late Alvin Letson (September 9, 2006). Loving mother of Rosanne Mercer, Charlotte and Keith Brohman and Warren Letson.
