    FREDERICK EGERDEE - New Dundee - Frederick Egerdee, one of the oldest residents of the village, passed away early this morning following a brief illness. He was in his 89th year. He was born in Germany on October 11, 1863, and came to Canada at the age of 17. On December 19, 1890, he married Wilhelmina Hank. After farming in the district for many years, he retired some years ago. He was a member of St. James' Lutheran church and sang in the choir until Christmas. He served on the church council for 15 years and was a former Sunday school superintendent for ten years. Surviving are his wife, three sons, William H. of New Dundee, Gordon of Ayr and Ernest of Galt; four daughters, Mrs. Fred (Alvina) Schedler of Kitchener; Mrs. Bertha Boshart, Mrs. M. K. (Martha) Toman and Mrs. Milton (Marie) Weiss of New Dundee. There are 29 grand-children and 28 great-grandchildren. Mr. Egerdee is resting at the Poth Funeral Home, New Dundee, until Friday afternoon. Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon with private service at the residence at 2: 30 p.m., followed by public service at St. James' Lutheran church at 3 p.m., with Rev. D. G. Glebe officiation. Interment will be in New Dundee Union Cemetery. (Note from newspaper) Believed a record - What is believed to be a record family for this district was left by the late Fred Egerdee, 89, of New Dundee, three sons, four daughters, 29 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren, for a total of 64 survivors.

    William H. Egerdee Passes - The funeral service was held at St. James' Lutheran Church last Tuesday afternoon for William H. Egerdee, the oldest member of the congregation who passed away Dec. 19th at the Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital aged 97 years. Rev. Douglas Reble officiated and interment was made in the New Dundee Union Cemetery. A former resident of this area, Mr. Egerdee operated a cider mill on the Huron Road for many years before retiring to Kitchener. He is survived by his wife, the former Madeline Schiebel; two sons, Frederick and his wife Rose of Milverton and Robert and his wife Lien of Victoria, B.C.; five daughters, Inez Surowic and her husband John of Sudbury, Muriel Zimmerman of Toronto, Bernice Rushton and her husband Gordon of California, Audrey Koegler and her husband Gerhard, RR 3, Thorndale and Donna Heimpel and her husband Robert of Kitchener; 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; a brother Ernest of Cambridge (Galt) and two sisters, Mrs. Alvena Schedler of Kitchener and Mrs. Bertha Boshart of New Hamburg. He was predeceased by his first wife Minnie Heimpel and his second wife Meta Annussat; his father, Frederick Egerdee and his mother the former Wilhelmina Hank who lived to be 99 years of age; a son and a daughter; a brother Gordon and two sisters, Mrs. Martha Toman and Mrs. Marie Weiss; a grandson John Koegler and one great-grandchild. Funeral arrangements were in charge of the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home, Kitchener and memorial donations were to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or St. James' Lutheran Church.

Resting at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas Street, Cambridge where the family will receive friends on Friday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place at the funeral home chapel on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 10: 30 a.m. Interment Parklawn Cemetery.     Boshart, Kenneth - Passed away,at St. Mary's Hospital. On Sunday, April 11, 1999, after a brief illness, at the age of 78 years. He was born February 2, 1921, a son of the late Moses Boshart and former Bertha Egerdee. Beloved husband of the late Irene Marie Boshart (nee Kurt), who predeceased him in 1977. Loving father of Bill and Sharon of New Dundee, Linda Pierce and her friend Greg of Edmonton, Russ of Kitchener, Dan and Janet of RR 2, Baden and Shirley Gardner and her friend Dan of British Columbia. Sadly missed by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also survived by one sister, Thelma Makcrow of Cambridge. Kenneth served overseas in the Second World War and was a member of the 12th Field Regiment Association.     Peacefully, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, on Saturday, June 6, 2009, at 64 years of age. James is reunited with his wife, Sandra Helen Molson. Loving father to Kim Wolfe and her husband Robert, and Tracy Lukits and her husband Greg. Cherished grandfather to Cassidy, Chloe, Allison Wolfe and Brett Lukits. He will be sadly missed by his brother, Richard, his wife Heather; his sisters, Susan Kehl, her husband Richard, and Sandra Poulton and friends. James is predeceased by his parents, Thelma and Charles Makcrow. Relatives and friends may visit at Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home (51 Benton St., Kitchener) on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at 11 a.m. Following James wishes cremation will take place. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the nursing staff at Freeport Hospital.

    BOSHART, Daniel

    Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at Grand River Hospital, Freeport Campus after a lengthy battle with cancer. Dan was born 70 years ago in Wilmot Township, Ontario, a son of the late Kenneth and Irene (Kurt) Boshart.

    Devoted and loving husband of Janet (Siebert) Boshart, who predeceased him on March 4, 2021. Cherished father of Holly and her husband Jason Plein. Cherished and devoted Poppi of Joshua and Miles Plein. Dan will be forever remembered and missed by his brothers, sisters, and spouses; Bill & Sharon Boshart, Linda and Greg Coats, Russ Boshart and Shirley Boshart, and by his many nieces, nephews and friends. God father of Jeff Pauli and Kayla Craig.

    Dan was a proud and devoted hockey Poppi, cheering on his grandsons at every game he was able to attend. Dan cherished the name Poppi and devoted much of his time to being a role model in their lives. Dan loved his gardens and enjoyed gardening, canning his famous and delicious pickles, tomato juice and his amazing apple sauce. Dan was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed travelling with his beloved Janet and friends. Dan was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, New Hamburg. Dan was a lifelong resident of Wilmot Township.

    Relatives and friends are invited to the Mark Jutzi Funeral home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg, on Monday, February 13, 2023 for a time of visiting from 10:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. The funeral service for Dan will follow in the chapel of the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Leanne Darlington officiating. Cremation to follow with interment in Riverside Cemetery, New Hamburg at a later date. For those unable to attend the service in person a livestream link will be available on the funeral home website.
