    Notes:

    The death took place in St. Michael's Hospital, Toronto, on Saturday morning last of Catharine Seegmiller, beloved wife of Mr. Alfred Kaufman, of Baden, at the age of 64 years, 7 months and 26 days. The late Mrs. Kaufman had been suffering with internal trouble for some time and everything that medical aid could do was done to prolong her life. She was taken to St. Michael's Hospital for special treatment, but it also proved in vain. The deceased was born on the Seegmiller homestead near Petersburg and after her marriage resided at Baden. She was a faithful adherent of the Lutheran Church and was highly esteemed. Besides her husband she leaves two sons and four daughters to mourn their loss. The children are: Alfred G., Kitchener; William H., New Hamburg; Mrs. Louise Markwell, Kitchener; Mrs. Dora Pautler, Preston; Mrs. John D. Schenk, Victoriaburg, and Mildred, of Buffalo. Two sisters, Mrs. Caroline Becker, of Kitchener, and Mrs. Annie Wood, Kingsly, Mich., and one brother, George Seegmiller, of Petersburg, also survive her.

    The remains were brought to her home in Baden on Saturday afternoon and the funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon to the Lutheran Church and the Baden Cemetery

    Mrs. A. Kaufman Passes Away in Toronto Hospital

    The death took place in St. Michael's Hospital, Toronto, on Saturday of Catharine Seegmiller, wife of Mr. Alfred Kaufman, of Baden The deceased had been in ill-health or some years, suffering from internal trrouble, and everything that medical science could do was done to prolong her life. In a final effort the deceased was taken to St. Michael's Hospital where she became a patient of Dr. Glover, whose discovery of a cure for cancer has already proven successful in many cases, by Mrs. Kaufman's ailment was beyond treatment. She was in her 65th year and is survived by her husband. two sons and four daughters. Alfred G. Kitchener; William H. New Hamburg; Mrs. Louise Maxwell. Kitchener; Mrs Dora Pautler, Preston; Mrs. John Schenk. Petersburg and Mildred of Buffalo. Two sisters. Mrs. Caroline Becker, Kitchener, and Mrs. Annie Wood. Kingsley, Mich. and one brother. George Seegmiller. Petersburg. together with twelve grandchildren, also survive The funeral will be held on Tuesday. July 13 at 2 o'clock from the residence in Baden to the Lutheran Church and the Baden cemetery.

    Of the Golden Years Nursing Home, formerly of 337 Waterloo St. S., in her 93rd year, Dorothea Kaufman, beloved wife of the late Anthony Pautler. Dear mother of Alfred of Cambridge, Father Vincent of Cambridge, Francis of Ottawa, Paul of Willowdale, Rene of Cambridge, Sister Dorothea, SSND, of Oakville, Marianne (Mrs. Joseph Berges) of Cambridge, Louise (Mrs. Frank Renner) of Cambridge, Joan (Mrs. Harold MacNaughton) of St. Catharines and Barbara Pautler of Waterdown. Mrs. Pautler, was born in Baden and moved to Cambridge (P) in 1913. She was a member of St. Clement's RC Church, the Altar Society and a past-president of the Catholic Women's League. She is survived by 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral mass was celebrated this morning, August 7, at 10 a.m., at St. Clement's RC Church. Interment followed in Park Lawn cemetery.

    BRESLAU, March 29.\emdash Mrs. John Schenk, 59, of R.R. 1, Breslau, died yesterday at St. Mary's Hospital. She had been in failing health for three years.

    Born July 24, 1891 at Baden. Mrs. Schenk was a. daughter of the late Alfred Kaufman and the former Catherine Seegmiller. She attended St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Conestogo, and was a member of the Ladies Aid Society.

    She is survived by her husband, three sons Alfred John, Bloomingdale, Elwood and Kenneth, at home; a daughter, Ruth, at home; a brother, Alfred G. Kaufman, Kitchener and three sisters,- Mrs. Louise Maxwell, Kitchener; Mrs. Anthony (Dora) Pautler; Preston; and Mrs. Mildred Kaufman, Lockport, N. Y. Two brothers predeceased her.

    The body will be at the Gruhn Funeral Home Until tomorrow when removal will be made to the residence at Breslau where the funeral will be held Saturday at 1:45 p.m., followed by a service .at St. Matthew's Church, Conestogo, at 2:30, conducted by Rev. Harold Brose. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.

    On Saturday, Nov. 29, 1997, at St. Joseph's Villa, Dundas, in his 81st year. Predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Dorothea Pautler; three brothers, Alfred, Francis and Paul and one sister, Sister M. Dorothea. Father Pautler, will be sadly missed by his brother, Rene and wife Pauline; his sisters, Marianne and husband Joseph Berges, Louise and husband Frank Renner, all of Cambridge, Joan and husband Harold MacNaughton of Niagara Falls and Barbara Pautler of Waterdown; his sisters-in-law, Helen Pautler of Ottawa and Shirley Pautler of Oshawa, 17 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Father Pautler was ordained to the priesthood, June 8, 1941 and retired in June of 1992. During his priesthood, he served as parish priest in Brantford, Guelph, Hamilton, Kitchener, Cambridge and New Hamburg. The family received friends at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and will continue at St. Clement's Church, 745 Duke St., Cambridge, today (Tuesday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The wake service will be held this evening (Tuesday) at 8 p.m. at the church. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 1997, at 11 a.m. Interment in Parklawn Cemetery, Cambridge.

    BERGES, Marianne Catherine - Passed away peacefully at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Friday, March 9, 2007 in her 88th year. Beloved mother of Sister Mary Jane Berges of Hamilton, Joanne Lambke and Fred Morrissey of Cambridge. Loving grandmother of Robert and Krista, Jennifer and Lori. Also survived by her brother, Rene Pautler and his wife Pauline of Cambridge; sisters, Louise Renner, Joan MacNaughton and her husband Harold and Barbara Pautler and Kay Ribson. Predeceased by her husband, Joseph Berges; parents, Anthony and Dorothea Pautler; sister, Dorothea Pautler; four brothers, Father Vincent Pautler, Alfred, Francis and Paul. Mrs. Berges was born in Preston on January 12, 1920 and was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of St. Clements RC Church. Family and friends will be received at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge on Monday, March 12, 2007 (today) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Clements RC Church, 745 Duke St., Cambridge on Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at 10 a.m. Interment Parklawn Cemetery.     Passed away peacefully, with family by his side, on Thursday, April 23, 2015, at Hanning House, Cambridge, in his 85th year. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Pauline, his son John Pautler (Laurel), his step-children; John Stubbs and Arlene Cheyne (Guy), his sister, Barbara Pautler and many nieces and nephews. Rene retired from a career with the Ontario Ministry of Finance and was an avid gardener. The family wishes to thank the staff of Hanning House for their care and compassion for the last five years.
