    WELLESLEY - Albert Adam Hammer, 74 Queen St., E., Wellesley, died today at Freeport Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 77.

    Born in Wilmot Township, April 24, 1892, he was a son of the late Mr. And Mrs. George Hammer. He farmed in the township until he retired to Wellesley in 1963. He married the former Martha Schaefer in Mornington Township April 20, 1921. He was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church, Philipsburg, and, after moving to Wellesley, was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church.

    He is survived by his wife; two sons, Walter of Baden and Clarence of R.R. 1, Wellesley; one daughter, Mrs. Norbert (Eileen) Quehl of R.R. 1, Bamberg; one sister, Mrs. Peter (Anna) Wegfahrt of Kitchener and six grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers and one sister.

    The body will be at the Futher Brothers Funeral Home, Wellesley, after 2 p.m. Wednesday, until noon Friday when removal will be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Wellesley.

    Rev. Orval Jansen will conduct the service at 2: 30 p.m. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran cemetery, Philipsburg.

    Donations to the Ontario Heart Foundation will be accepted as expressions of sympathy.

    Albert married Martha Isobel Schaefer 20 Apr 1921, Mornington Twp., Perth Co., Ontario, Canada. Martha was born 28 Jun 1900, Milverton, Mornington Twp., Perth Co., Ontario; died 24 Jan 1980, Kitchener, Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada; was buried , Zion Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Philipsburg, Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada.     HAMMER, Walter John George - Passed away, on Thursday, March 15, 2007, at the Golden Years Nursing Home, Cambridge. Walter was born in Philipsburg 83 years ago and resided in Baden for many years. Walter was the son of the late Albert and Martha (Schaefer) Hammer. Beloved husband of Ruby (Gingerich) Hammer whom he married November 17, 1956. Much loved father of Cheryl and Murray Martin of Kitchener, Sandra and Al Czernick of Medicine Hat, Alberta. Sadly missed by his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Norma Hammer of Baden, Norbert Quehl of St. Jacobs, Ken and Edith Gingerich of Waterloo, Leona and Walter Steinman of Baden, Ray and Betty Gingerich of Tavistock, Jean Gingerich of Baden, Carl Oesch of Stratford, Elaine and Len Cressman of Baden, Richard and Dorothy Gingerich of Guelph. Special cousin of Fred and Marilyn Mank, Stew Mank and Bill and Rosemary Schaefer. Walter was predeceased by his younger brother, Clarence Hammer; sister, Eileen Quehl; sisters-in-law, Myra (Sweety) Gingerich, Miriam Oesch and brother-in-law, Willard Gingerich. Walter was raised in Philipsburg and attended and was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church. After marrying Ruby, they were active members of Steinmann Mennonite Church, Baden. Walter retired from trucking and had drove truck for CN Route (was formerly Husband Transport) and Snyder Transport. He was a former member of Transport for Christ. Family and friends may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg on Sunday, March 18, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Walter's life will take place on Monday, March 19, 2007 at 3 p.m. at Steinmann Mennonite Church, Baden. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to Mennonite Central Committee or 100 Huntley Street. Special thanks to the nursing staff at both Nithview Home and Golden Years Nursing Home for your loving care and compassion shown to Dad over the past years and especially nurse "Lewah".

    QUEHL, Mrs. Norbert (Eileen) - Peacefully, on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2000, at the Bonnie Brae Health Care Centre, in Tavistock, Eileen Anna Quehl, of Wellesley.

    Eileen was born in Wilmot township 75 years ago. She was the daughter of the late Albert Hammer and the late Martha Schaefer. Eileen was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wellesley, where she taught Sunday school for many years.

    Beloved wife of Norbert E. Quehl, whom she married in Phillipsburg, September 14, 1952. Loving mother of Shirley Quehl of Waterloo and Elaine and her husband Peter Quehl-Au of Orleans, Ont.; dear sister of Walter and his wife Ruby Hammer of Baden; sister-in-law of Norma Hammer of New Hamburg. She was predeceased by a brother, Clarence Hammer in 1992.

    Visitation at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home, 1172 Henry St., in Wellesley, where family and friends will be received, today (Friday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At 12 noon Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000 removal will be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church for the funeral service at 2 p.m., Pastor Rick Pryce will officiate. Burial in St. Mark's Lutheran Cemetery, Wellesley.

    Eileen married Norbert Edward Quehl 14 Sep 1952.
