    Mrs. Jacob R. Schmitt of Philipsburg passed away today in her 72nd year. Born in Wellesley, the late Mrs. Schmitt had lived for many years in Philipsburg. She is survived by her husband, four sons, John of this city, Lewis and Gordon of Waterloo and Jacob of Galt, and five daughters, Mrs. George Lantz and Mrs. Herbert Lantz, both of Philipsburg, Miss Rose of Waterloo, Miss Edith at home and Mrs. Norman Zimmerman of St. Agatha. The funeral will be held on Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock from her home to Philipsburg Lutheran Church and cemetery

    GALT, Jacob Smith, 80, of 49 Bich Ave., Galt, died Wednesday, in the South Waterloo Memorial Hospital. Born in Wilmot Township, he had been a resident of Galt, for 51 years, where he was associated with the R. A. Briscoe Company, for 43 years. For a number of years, he was manager of the Briscoe store. Mr. Smith was a member of Central Presbyterian Church, Galt. Surviving are his wife, the former Lillian Witte: one son, W. Cecil Smith of Galt: one daughter, Mrs. Jack (Hazel) English of Galt: three sisters, Mrs. Clara Zimmerman of Kitchener and Mrs. Rose Mueller and Mrs. Margaret Lantz, both of Waterloo and one grandson. The funeral will be held Saturday, at 2 p.m., from the Little Funeral Home, Galt, with interment in Mount View Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home.

Death came after an illness of a few days at the home of her brother-in-law, Mr. Norman Zimmerman at St. Agatha. The deceased is survived by her aged father, Mr. Jacob R. Schmitt and by four brothers, Jacob of Galt, Louis, Waterloo, John and Gordon of Kitchener and by four sisters, Mrs. George Z. Lantz, Baden, Mrs. Albert Muellen, Waterloo, Mrs. Herbert Lantz, Baden and Mrs. Norman Zimmerman, St. Agatha. The deceased was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Philipsburg. Lovingly remembered by 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by one brother, Armond Lantz. Visitation at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home, 40 Henry St., Wellesley, where the family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At noon Friday, April 28, removal will be made to St. James Lutheran Church for the funeral service at 3 p.m. Pastor Wilmer Mink will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Loving mother of Tim and Myrna Eby, Connie and Paul Wittig, all of Kitchener, Greg Eby and Phil Lanouette of Toronto. Grandmother of Tracey (nee Eby) and James Goodchild, Chad and Jill Wittig and Josh Wittig. Great-grandmother of Sebastien, Danica and Maya Goodchild, Charlie and Lillianna Wittig. Predeceased by her sister Gladys Letson and brother Ralph Schmitt. A celebration of Norma's life will be held in the chapel of the Henry Walser Funeral Home , 507 Frederick St., Kitchener (749-8467) at 11 am on Wednesday, March 9, 2016. Pastor Richard Schwass of St. Stephen Lutheran Church officiating. The burial has already taken place. As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Stephen's Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer Society of K-W would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
