    Notes:

    Block Lydia Litwiller Block was born in Wilmot Twp., Waterloo Co., Ont., June 24, 1889; died on March 16, 1932; aged 42 y. 8 m. 21 d. She gave her heart to the Lord in her teens and united with the church of her choice in which she was a faithful member until death. Her sickness was of short duration, being sick less than a week. She took the influenza and then pneumonia. She was married to Irvin Block in January, 1915. Her departure is mourned by her bereaved husband, 2 sons, 6 daughters, 3 sisters, 2 brothers and many other relatives and friends. Her mother, father, a sister and 2 brothers preceded her to the Great Beyond. Funeral services were held March 19, at the Waterloo Mennonite Church of which she was a member, conducted by Bros. J. B. Martin and M. Hallman. Texts, Acts 9: 36-42; Matt. 25: 6; I Cor. 15: 26.

    Jantzi, Lillian Block, daughter of Ervon and Lydia (Litwiller) Block, was born at Petersburg, Ont., June 10, 1917; died at Kitchener, Ont., Dec. 14, 1987; aged 70 y. She was married to Daniel Jantzi, who survives. Also surviving are 3 sons (Darrel, Glenn, and Dalton), 2 daughters (Demaris Barg and Lois Eby), 14 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, one brother (Delford Block), and 7 sisters (Dorothy Sape, Adele Deckert, Noreen Steinman, Mary Belle Poll, Betty Aberhardt, Muriel Martin, and Sharon Wideman). She was a member of Pioneer Park Christian Fellowship, where funeral services were held on Dec. 18, in charge of Brian Laverty; interment in the church cemetery.

    JANTZI, Lillian E. - At her residence, 811 Bleams Rd., Kitchener, on Monday, Dec. 14, 1987, peacefully, as the result of a heart attack, the former Lillian Ethel Block, aged 70 years.

    She was a member of Pioneer Park Christian Fellowship Mennonite Church.

    Dear wife of Daniel; loving mother of Rev. Darrell Jantzi and his wife Florence, Glenn and his wife Joanne, all of Waterloo, Rev. Dalton Jantzi and his wife Carol of Scarborough, Demaris and her husband Werner Barg of Brooks, Alta., Lois and her husband Chris Eby of Kitchener; sister of Delford Block of Edson, Alta,, Dorothy (Mrs. Michael Sape) of Sarasota, Fla., Mrs. Adele Decked., Mrs. Noreen Steinman, Mary Belle (Mrs. Donald Poll), all of Kitchener, Betty (Mrs. Anthony Aberhardt) of Waterloo, Muriel (Mrs. Oscar Martin) of Elmira, Sharon (Mrs. James Wideman) of St. Clements. Fourteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive.

    Predeceased by her parents; two brothers, Dalton and Arthur.

    Friends may call at the Rate-Bechtel Funeral Home, 821 King St. W., Kitchener, after 7 p.m. Wednesday (today), until noon on Friday, when removal will be made to Pioneer Park Christian Fellowship Mennonite Church, where the funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., with Rev. Brian Laverty officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.

    April 12, 1922 - September 4, 2010. Passed away peacefully in her 88th year at home surrounded by her loving family, predeceased by Roy Steinman. Norene will be sadly missed by her family, sisters, and many friends.

    Norene leaves her four children, Nancy (Peter) Barrington, Carol (Bill) Steinman, Dan (Barbara) Steinman, and Sally (Don) Metzger; six grandchildren - Ahren, Andrea, Patrick, Natalie, Emma and Jacob, and her two great grandchildren, Alex and Paige. She will also be fondly remembered by her three surviving "Block" sisters - Mary Belle Poll, Betty Aberhardt, and Sharon Wideman - and by her dear friends at the Queen-Margaret Apartment Buildings.

    Norene was an active member of the Queen-Margaret Tenants Association and Bridge Club, a former Dairy Queen manager, and founder of the Pioneer Ice Cream Shoppe at Sportsworld.

    At Norene's request, she will rest in peace at the Williamsburg Scattering Garden, close to her birthplace in Shingletown, Wilmot Township.

    Please join us in celebrating Norene's life at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Sunday, September 12, 2010. Visitation with family begins at 3 p.m., followed by a memorial service in the chapel at 4 p.m.

    It has pleased Almighty God in His divine wisdom and providence to call from her earthly home to her heavenly home, the soul of MaryBelle Poll on Tuesday, November 17, 2020. She was 95 years old at the time of her death. MaryBelle was born in Petersburg, Ontario on August 5, 1925. Loving wife of the late Donald G. Poll (2019). She will be sadly missed by her children Dale Poll (Barbara) and Scott Poll (Peter Liu), daughter-in-law Barbara Poll, grandchildren Ryan Poll (Darlene) and Tamara Raffelhüschen (Thomas), great-grandchildren Liam and Coen Raffelhüschen, godchildren James Blake, William Seegmiller, Steven Upfold, Jane Somerville, Jeannette Lamont, Sandy Dent, Dorian Hartfield, Debbie Ottman and a special daughter Joanne Schaefer. She will also be missed by her sister Sharon Lee Landriault and her brother-in-law Leo "Red" Hill. She mourned the loss of her son Graham in 2019 and oldest son Alan in 1960. She was also predeceased by her parents Irvon and Lydia (Litwiller) Block, step-mother Marion (Weber) Block, sisters Dorothy Sape, Lillian Jantzi, Adele Deckert, Noreen Steinman, Betty Aberhardt and Muriel Martin, brothers Delford Block and Dalton Block (who was killed overseas while serving with the R.C.A.F.) and sister-in-law Doris Hill. Her great joy was her many nieces, nephews and the good friends she made throughout the years. She took joy in serving as a Cub and Scout Mother in the Scout Auxiliary 24th and 19th divisions, Smithson School and Home, Teacher's Aid with pre-school deaf children and twenty years with the Sunnyside Home Auxiliary. She made friends as a lecturer with Counterweight and as a member of the Rockway Senior Centre Quilting Club. MaryBelle's greatest joy was serving her Lord and Saviour. She loved the children she taught in Sunday School and for forty years as a teacher during the summer Vacation Bible School. She served Holy Cross Lutheran Church as a member of the Women's Guild, L.W.M.L. Women's Retreats and many committees throughout the years. A private funeral service will be held at Woodland Cemetery.
