    Mrs. Robert Bartley, 73. of 214 Union St. E., Waterloo, died today at St. Mary's Hospital after a brief illness.

    She was the former Amelia Hauser. the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hoppert Hauser of Woolwich Township.

    Mrs. Bartley lived in the Kitchener area for the past 53 years,and was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church.

    She was married in 1910, and her husband died in 1942.

    Surviving are five sons, Karl of Waterloo, Jack Ward, Stewart and Bruce of Kitchener; four daughters.. Mrs. Roy (Marie) Freiburger, Mrs. Ross (Hazel) McCormick, George (Myrtle) Cooper and Mrs. Ernest (Olive) King all of Kitchener; four sisters. Mrs. Henry (Dora) Brox of Grand Ledge, Mich., Mrs. John (May) Brox of Preston. Mrs. Jack (Selina) Draves and Mrs. Chris (Alvin) Yaeger of Kitchener; 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. One daughter and one sister predeceased her.

    The body will be at the Schreiter Sandrock Funeral Home until 1 p.m. Saturday when removal will be made to St. Matthew's Church Chapel for service at 2 p.m. Rev. F. W. Zinck will officiate and burial will be In St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery

    Mrs. S. Freiburger - Mrs. Stanley Freiburger, 33, of 17 Whitney Place died at St. Mary's Hospital today. A Kitchener native, she was a daughter of Emelia Oppertshauser and the late Robert Bartley. She attended St. Joseph's RC Church. Surviving are her husband; one son, James, 3; one daughter, Mary Ellen, 6; five brothers, Carl of Waterloo and Jack, Ward, Stewart and Bruce of Kitchener; four sisters, Mrs. Roy (Marie) Freiburger, Mrs. Hazel Wettlaufer, Mrs. Ernest (Olive) King and Myrtle Bartley of Kitchener. The body is resting at the Schreiter Sandrock Funeral Home where prayers will be said Friday at 8: 30 am, followed by requiem high mass at St. Joseph's Church at 9 am. Burial will be in Woodland RC Cemetery with Rev. R.M. Haller officiating.

    Wally had been employed as a truck driver for the Postal Service and prior to that had been employed with Class Freight Lines for many years.

    Predeceased by his loving wife, the former Gail Runke in 1997 and his father, Ward Bartley in 1968.

    Survived by his mother, Mrs. Olive Bartley of Cambridge; his daughter, Kelly of Kitchener and two sisters, Judy and her husband James Casemore and Pat and her husband Wayne Graff, all of Kitchener. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

    Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 621 King St. W., Kitchener or Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A memorial service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 1 pm, with Chaplain Michael Chow officiating.
