    On Sunday, Nov. 28, 1971, at Fairview Mennonite Home, Preston, Melvin E. Baer, age 82, formerly of Blair. Beloved husband of Luanna Brubacher; dear father of Russell of Peterborough, Kenneth of Willowdale and Mrs. Elmer (Mary Margaret) Reist, Waterloo. Brother of Eldon of Plattsville, Harvey of Tucson. Ariz., Mrs. Albert (Luella) Blaschke and Grace Baer of Galt, Mrs. Byron (Myrtle) Kenyon of New York. Also survived by nine grandchildren. Predeceased by one sister, Stella. Resting at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. South, Waterloo, for service in the chapel, Wednesday, 2 p.m. Interment Blair cemetery.

    REIST, Mary Margaret (nee Baer)

    Went to be with her Lord on August 14, 2015, at the age of 85. Loving mother of Judy Chapman, Dawna Gilmore (Ross), Margy Hunking (Lowell) and David Reist (Melinda). Cherished grandmother of Laura (Adam), Ryan (Sabrina), Amy (Jeremy), Evan, Connor, Sidney, Amanda (Jason), Victoria, Ariel, Jordan, Kelsey and Layla. Cherished great-grandmother of ten. Survived by her sister-in-law Bernie Baer. Predeceased by her brothers Russ (Eileen) and Ken Baer. Mary graduated from Hamilton General Hospital as a Registered Nurse in 1950. She married in 1952 and raised her family of four. Mary worked as a Red Cross Homemaker for many years and enjoyed her volunteer work with children, seniors and church. Mary's family will receive relatives and friends from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m., on Monday, August 17, 2015, at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener. The funeral service will take place at 1 p.m., in the chapel of the funeral home, on Tuesday, August 18, 2015, followed by a reception. Interment Blair Cemetery.
