    Christian Reist, "was born in Penn Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, November 13th, 1796. He came to Canada in 1826 and settled on a farm two miles east of Breslau where he died February 20th, 1875. He was married twice, first to Nancy Strieger, March 16th, 1830. She was born December 8th, 1797, and died in October, 1845. After her decease he was again married to Christina Eva Frögel, October 17th, 1848. She was born September 15th, 1815, and at present resides with her daughter, Mrs. Kurtz, at Shantz Station, about three miles east of Breslau. With the first wife there were two children"

    Dippel.-Sister Nancy Reist was born in Waterloo Co., Ont., May 29, 1836. She was married to John Dippel with whom she lived in matrimony for 28 years, when he died. She died Oct. 23, 1919, at the advanced age of 93 years and 5 months, less 1 day. The funeral was held on Oct. 25, at the Congregational Church, Freeport, by the brethren, S. S. Bowman and U. K. Weber. Interment in Riverbank Cemetery.

    SCHNARR, Arnold - Passed away, at the Village of Winston Park, on Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, in his 94th year.

    Arnold, along with his wife, Irene, owned and operated the Darlene Beauty Salon on Belmont Blvd. in Kitchener for 49 years. He was a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Waterloo.

    Survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Irene. Dear father of Richard and his wife Fern and Joan and her husband Douglas Martz, all of Waterloo; grandfather of Karin Schnarr and Philip Schnarr, Debbie Melanson and her husband Edgar, Cheryl Brown and her husband Paul and James Martz and his wife Wanda; great-grandfather of Jesse and Sean Melanson, Jason Brown and his wife Tiffany and Ryan, Dylan and Shayna Martz; great-great-grandfather of Julia Brown. Survived by his brothers, Roy Schnarr and his wife Dolly and Gordon Schnarr and his wife Eileen, all of Waterloo and sister, Gloria Hentges and her husband Edward of Kitchener.

    Predeceased by his brother, Arwood Schnarr and his sisters, Verneda Gracey and Mabel Paepke.

    Relatives and friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener today (Thursday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the Ratz-Bechtel Chapel on Friday at 11 a.m., with Rev. Stephen Weber officiating, Interment Woodland Cemetery.

She will be sadly missed by her seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Nelson in 1976 and one son, Douglas.
