Iutzi.-Sarah Hannah, daughter of the late Christian and Mattie Baechler, was born in South Easthope, Perth Co., Ont., on June 19, 1899. On May 12, 1944, after an extended and severe illness of much suffering, she entered into rest; aged 44 y. 10 m. 29 d. In early youth she confessed Christ and was baptized by the late Bishop Michael K. Jantzi, Oct. 25, 1914, and was received into the fellowship of East Zorra A. M. congregation, in which faith she remained to the end. On June 14, 1922, she was united in the bonds of matrimony to Bro. Michael R. Iutzi of East Zorra, which union was blessed with 7 children. Surviving are her bereaved companion and Mary Ellen, at home: her father and mother-in-law (Daniel S. Iutzi and wife), one brother (Chris Baechler, Tavistock), 4 sisters (Katie Schultz, Milverton; Fannie, wife of Sam Bender, New Hamburg; Mabel, wife of William Bender, New Hamburg; Susannah, wife of Peter Roth, New Hamburg). One son Lloyd Daniel preceded her in 1928. Services were held at the home on May 15, by Bro. Dan Wagler, and at the East Zorra A. M. Church by Brethren Menno Kipfer and Jacob R. Bender. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery.

SCHIEDEL, (Wagler) Alice - Passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2008, at her residence Nithview Home, New Hamburg. She was born 85 years ago in East Zorra Township and was the daughter of the late Michael and Sarah (Baechler) Jutzi. Alice was predeceased by her husbands, Elmer B. Wagler in 1977, and Robert Schiedel in 2000. Dear mother of David Wagler of New Hamburg. Sadly missed by her son-in-law, Jack Gross of Kitchener; grandchildren, Shawn, Michael, Jonathan, Heidi, Linda, Michelle, Amanda, Jackie and a number of great-grandchildren. Also missed by her step-children, Robert Schiedel, Douglas and Sharon Schiedel, Donald and Marg Schiedel, David Schiedel, Betty and Peter Juknys and number of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Remembered by her sisters, Ruby Roth, Velma Gerber, Hilda and Elmer L. Wagler all of New Hamburg, Esther and Howard Schwass of Tavistock and Mary Ellen and Emmanuel Brubacher of Elmira; brother-in-law, Henry Wagler and sisters-in-law, Dorothy Wagler, Leola Wagler, Dora Wagler and Lizzie Zehr. Alice was predeceased by her daughter, Linda Gross and brother, Lloyd in infancy. Alice was a member of Hillcrest Mennonite Church, New Hamburg. Family and friends may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home , 291 Huron St., New Hamburg, on Tuesday, November 18, 2008, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A family interment will take place prior to the funeral service at the 19th Line Cemetery. The funeral service to celebrate Alice's life will take place on Wednesday, November 19, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Mennonite Church, New Hamburg with Pastor Jan Steckley and Pastor David Driedger officiating. SCHWASS: Esther Marjorie (nee Jutzi) of Tavistock passed away peacefully in the Maples Home for Seniors, Tavistock on Thursday January 9, 2020. She was born on October 25, 1938 a daughter of the late Michael & Sarah (Baechler) Jutzi.

Esther is survived by her husband, Howard Schwass, whom she married on June 1, 1957; four sons,
James and wife Cathy, Richard and wife Jo-Anne Schwass, Bruce Schwass and spouse Matt Peck, Greg and wife Donna Schwass; three grandchildren, Daniel Schwass, Matthew Schwass and Olivia Schwass; two sisters, Hilda and husband Elmer L. Wagler, Mary Ellen and husband Emmanuel Brubacher; step-brother, Nelson and wife Barbara Zehr; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Vernon and Linda Schwass and Margaret Tugwood along with several nieces, nephews and their families.

She was predeceased by her brother, Lloyd Jutzi in infancy; sisters, Alice and husbands Elmer B. Wagler and Robert Schiedel, Ruby and husband Vernon Roth, Velma and husband David Gerber; her step-mother Druscilla Roth; by step sisters, Laurene Roth and Catherine Zehr; by brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, William Tugwood, Jean and Vincent Rumig.

Relatives and friends will be received in the Francis Funeral Home 77 Woodstock St., N., Tavistock on Sunday January 12, 2020 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.. The funeral service will be held in the Tavistock Mennonite Church on Tuesday January 14, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Jim Brown will officiate. Interment in East Zorra Mennonite Cemetery, 16th Line. Reception to follow.
