- Alvin Walz of 8 Theresa St. died Sunday at St. Mary's Hospital. He was 76,
Mr. Walz was born in Waterloo, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Franz Walz, and lived in the Twin City area all his life.
He was employed at Greb Shoes Ltd. for 45 years until he retired in 1959. He was a member of St. John's RC Church.
Surviving besides his wife, the former Catharine White, whom he married in 1926 in Kitchener, are one son, Robert Walz of Kitchener; three brothers, Frederick of Waterloo, Frank of Cleveland, Ohio, and Carl of Kitchener, and four sisters, Mrs. Peter (Emma) Hergott, Mrs. Earl (Leonora) Marks and Mrs. Thomas (Edna) Charlton, all of Waterloo, and Mrs. Benjamin (Florence) Eby of Kitchener. Two brothers predeceased him.
The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home where the parish rosary will be recited Tuesday at 8 p.m. Prayers will be recited Wednesday at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. followed by funeral mass at 10 a.m. at St. John's RC Church, Burial will be in Woodland cemetery. Rev. J. H. Higgins will officiate.
Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society will be accepted as expressions of sympathy.
