  RIFE, ANNIE WILHEMINE (Nee Plugradt) On Saturday morning, July 31, 1937, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Thomas Aikens of the 3rd concession of Puslinch Township, in her 86th year. She had been practically a lifelong resident of this part of the province. She was born during the sea voyage, when her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Plugradt, came from Germany to Canada. She had been a resident of Hespeler for many years, until the death of her husband, the late John Rife, who passed away in 1930. Survived by a son, H. W. Rife of Preston; four daughters, Mrs. John Littleton of Canton, Ohio; Mrs. L. Gowing of Detroit; Mrs. Thomas Aikens of Puslinch Township; Mrs. C. Yates of Toronto; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Schneider of Preston; and Mrs. J. Meyers of Winnipeg. The funeral, on Monday at 2: 30, at the home of Mrs. Aikens, was conducted by Rev. J. J. Lowe and interment was in Hespeler Cemetery. Pallbearers: Clifford Gowing of Detroit; Roy and Alex Rife of Preston; Bert Yates of Toronto; William and Robert Aikens of Puslinch. Among those who attended from out of town were Mrs. Charles Schneider of Preston; Mr. and Mrs. L. Gowing, Clifford and Bob Gowing and Mrs. Alexander of Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. Yates and family and Mrs. Pringle of Toronto; Mr. and Mrs. Loftus of Burford; Mr. and Mrs. H. Rife and Mr. and Mrs. L. Sanderson of Guelph; and George Henry of Hamilton.
