- Family mourns By Janet Sinnott Reporter Staff - CAMBRIDGE - Children sobbed and cried out for their mom while friends and relatives said good-bye to Brenda Rose Andrade at a funeral service Thursday. The 29-year-old Cambridge woman died early Tuesday at McMaster Medical Centre in Hamilton less than 24 hours after delivering twins at Cambridge Memorial Hospital. She was sent to Hamilton hospital after the second baby was born because of complications in the delivery. A hysterectomy was performed but she began haemorrhaging and died shortly after. The first baby, Emma, is coming home from Cambridge Memorial Hospital to her family today. The second twin, Dylan, was also taken to McMaster Medical Centre where he is doing well but it isn't known when he will come home. The service offered comfort and encouragement to the family, Brenda's husband Steve, mother Marie, and the children, Jordan, 1, Andrew, 7, Melissa, 9, and Mandy, 13, in understanding and dealing with her death. "He's (Jesus) wept at the death of a friend. He's wept at the death of a parent. We can run to him today because he's been where we are," said Rev. Darin Latham during the service. He encouraged the family and friends who attended not to question why the tragedy happened right now but instead to deal with the facts that are known. "At a moment like this let's cling to what we know and leave what we don't know until we're ready," he said. Friends remembered the good times they shared with her and the memories she has left. From the delicious meals she could whip up for her family to the loving way she cared for each member, friends remembered her as a generous and caring woman. "She's given a part of herself to each one of her kids," said Julia Curtis while delivering the euology[sic].

City woman dies after birth of twins - By Janet Sinnott Reporter Staff
CAMBRIDGE - A funeral will be held today for a 29-year-old mother of six who died hours after delivering twins. Brenda Rose Andrade died early Tuesday at McMaster Medical Centre in Hamilton, less than 24 hours after giving birth to two babies, Emma and Dylan, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital. A friend of the family said Mrs. Andrade was sent to the Hamilton hospital after the second baby was born because of complications in the deliver. A hysterectomy was performed but she began haemorrhaging and died shortly after. The tragedy has left her husband Steve and mother Maria to care for the two infants and the other children, ages 2, 7, 9 and 13. "There are no words to describe them. They're in shock," said the friend, who didn't want to be identified. The family, devastated by the loss, faces an uncertain future. Mr. Andrade lost his job when the frozen food plant he worked at closed five months ago. The friend said the family won't be the same without Mrs. Andrade. "She just loved being a mother. Her kids were basically her life." The funeral was to be held at 1 p.m. today at the Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas St., followed by interment in Mount View Cemetery.
