  • Notes
    • Mr. Chris. Bannick, farmer, 66 years of age, passed away on Saturday afternoon, April 30th, at the home of Mr. Chas. Diekau near Didsbury, Alta. His death was preceded by a lingering illness of internal cancerous nature. He came west to Didsbury about eighteen years ago and soon found employment with Mr. Chas. Diekau. This engagement was uninterrupted during the entire eighteen years except by several visits back to Ontario and other places of relative interest to Mr. Bannick. He was married at the age of thirty, to Miss Carrie Kuhry, who, only one year and a half later, preceded him in death.

He leaves only two family members (brothers) to mourn his departure; Menno in Yorkton, Sask. and Wm. C. in Elkton, Mich. Because of distance and other unavoidable hindrances, neither of the brothers were able to attend the funeral, Every detail however was most honorably and respectfully cared for by Mr. Diekau and family. The funeral service was held in Evangelical Church and WAS conducted by the pastor, H. E. Roppel after which the interment took place at the Didsbury Cemetery.
