- CHARLES EBANAU
EATONIA. Another oldtimer of the district passed away Monday morning, in Eatonia Union Hospital, in the person of Charles Ebenau, 76, of Laporte. He was born at Ayton, County Grey, Ontario, and came to the West with his family in 1910 and took up homestead land east of Laporte but of late years had been living on a farm with his sons, west of Laporte. He was married to Jessie McLvride Marshall on June 30, 1886, and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1936. He leaves his widow and two sons and one daughter, James and Harry, and Mrs. E. Martin, all of Laporte. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon from the community hall at Laporte, service being conducted by the Rev. W. L. Gourlay, pastor of the Eatonia United Church. Burial took place in Royal Canadian cemetery.
