HESPELER - Charles Bernard Schott, 78, of 161 Queen St., Hespeler, died Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Guelph; after a short illness.
A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael Schott, he was born in Lambton County, May 31, 1878. He came to Hespeler in 1919 and has lived here since. Mr. Schott was employed at the Hespeler Furniture Company until the time of his illness. He was a member and past warden of St. James' Anglican Church and a past noble grand of Strathroy IOOF Lodge.
His wife, the former Amanda Kaiser, predeceased him in December. 1948. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Russell (Alfretta) Wehner of Hespeler; Mrs. Thomas (Aretta) Peters of Galt, Mrs. George (Eunice) Ventry of Guelph, and Mrs. William (Velma) James of Hespeler; a brother, Karl of Brantford, a sister, -Mrs. Lewis Johnson of Hamilton, and eight grandchildren.
The body is at the residence until 11 a.m. Saturday when removal will be made to St James' Church for service at 3 p.m. Interment will be in Hespeler Cemetery.
