- Former Minister Here Passes Away
Rev. C.G.F. Cole dies at Kenilworth; Former Wesley Pastor Here To Be Interred in Elmira Cemetery.
Rev. Charles G. F. Cole, former pastor of Wesley United church, Elmira, which was known as the Methodist church when Rev. Mr. Cole was pastor, died at his home in Kenilworth Wednesday morning. Death followed a stroke which occurred last Thursday night.
Rev. Mr. Cole left Elmira about eight years ago, going to the now United Church charge at Kenilworth where he had been since leaving here. He was a conscientious and active minister, doing much good work, and well liked by his congregation. Many members of Wesley United church recall his pleasant and fruitful ministry here.
Surviving, besides his widow, are two daughters, Gertrude, a school teacher in Hamilton and Marie (Mrs. Edgar Rahn) of Elmira, who was married early last fall.
The funeral will be held from his late home at one o'clock Saturday afternoon. A service will be held in the Kenilworth United church at 1.30 o'clock in the afternoon. The service will be conducted by ministers of the Guelph Presbytery of the United church Ministers of the Guelph Presbytery will also act as pall-bearers. The remains will be brought to Elmira and interment made in the Elmira Cemetery.
The remains will be taken on arrival in Elmira to Wesley United Church where they will remain for a short time so that friends who wish may view them.
