- SELF, Constance Mary Margery 1929 - 2012
It is with great sadness that the family of Connie Self, announce her passing at home on Tuesday, November 27, 2012. Connie was born in Sarnia, Ontario to Binnie and Bessie Black and is survived by her sister, Merle Belford and her brother the Rev. Gervis Black. Predeceased by her husband of 54 years, R. Kenneth Self, she will always be fondly remembered by their children, Richard (Nancy), Roger, Heather (Chris Miles), Susan, Peter (Paula) and Paul (Tara) and her thirteen grandchildren; Taylor, Jennifer, Kathleen, Elizabeth, Jacqueline, Emily, Alexandra, Gabrielle, Stephen, Brandon, Richie, Makenna and Delaney and her great-granddaughter, Ava. Connie touched many people in many ways in her long and well-lived life. A woman of strength, through her Christian faith, Connie had an unwavering belief in the inherent goodness in people and lived a life dedicated to others. As a mother, a wife, a grandmother, a sister and a friend she remained steadfastly supportive and unfailingly optimistic about what the future would bring - a simple gift to all that knew her. The funeral service was held on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Central Presbyterian Church, 7 Queens Square, Cambridge, Ontario.
