- RIFE-There passed away Saturday, June 8, at the Royal Jubilee Hospital, David Cornelius Rife, of 3156 Albina Street, Saanich. The late Mr. Rife was born at Hespler. Ontario, and moved to this city 40 years ago. He was a veteran of the First Great War, being bandmaster of the 88th band, and member of Britannia Branch Canadian Legion, B.E.S L. He is survived by his wife, Edith, at the family residence, two daughters Mrs. G. F. Cooper, 261 Burnside Rd.. and Mrs. C. Turner, 1325 Lang Street, five sons, Phillip, Norman and Bert, Port Angeles: Stanley, Cordova Bay, and Carol. 1711 Bay Street: two sisters in Portland, Ore, and one sister in Ardmore, Oklahoma: also 16 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the parlors of the S. J. Curry & Son Funeral Home. Rev. N. S. Noel will officiate and interment will take place in the family plot at Ross Bay Cemetery.
