Notes |
- David H. Forbes was a Galt businessman who in partnership with his brother Robert Forbes operated a store on Queen's Square in Galt later occupied by Gavin Home. He and his brother later erected a large stone factory near the Goldie and McCulloch foundry to house a paper mill. It was not very successful and in 1854 it was moved to Georgetown and operated by David. It proved unsuccessful and he moved to Chicago in 1856 and was successful. He died in Brighton, England while being treated for a terminal illness.
