  David Moray Goldie, Died May 22nd, 1912, In his twenty-first year. The Funeral Will take place from "The Gore" Monday, May 27, 1912 at 3 o'clock p.m., to Ayr Cemetery. Waterloo Historical Society Death Notices Collection - photocopies ______________ David Goldie was Serg't Major At Kingston In a letter received by Mayor Schmalz from his son at the Royal Military College, Kingston, reference was made to the sad drowning of David Goldie, of Ayr, which occured last week. He writes: "Did you read of David Goldie being drowned near Paris? He was my Sergant Major and graduated from R. M. C in 1911. He was a fine fellow, - one doesn't meet many like him, and his untimely death has cast a gloom over the companies of cadets were associated with him." Brantford, May 27-After a search in which two hundred people participated from an early hour yesterday morning, the body of David Goldie, who was drowned in Smith's Creek, above Paris, was found yesterday afternoon in the Grand River, two miles below the town.
