- SCHMITT, Delton H.At K-W Hospital, on Friday, April 20, 1979, following a brief illness, Delton Howard Schmitt, age 71 years, of 248 Woodhaven Rd. he was a member of Mannheim Mennonite Church. Beloved husband of the former Beulah Weber; dear father of Rev. Howard of West Liberty, Ohio, Mrs. Ralph (Dorothy) Shantz of Route 2, Baden, Mrs. Bill (Betty) Martin of Cambridge(G); brother of Lorne of MINDEN, Harold of New Dundee, Edward of ST. George, Mrs. Harold (Edna) Shiedel of Cambtidge(P), Mrs. Clifford (Reta) Knechtel and Mrs. Alson (Ethel) Bauman, both of Kitchener. Five grandchildren, Valerie and Jeffrey Schmitt, Kerry and Lori Shantz and Jason Martin also survive. Predeceased by his parents, one brother, Wilfred and two sisters, Mrs. Herbert (Vinetta) Feick and Mrs. Lester (Edith) Bachert. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W. Kitchener, after 7 p.m., today, until noon on Monday, when removal will be made to Mannheim Mennonnite Church for funeral service at 2 p.m., with Rev. James Reusser officiating. Interment in the church cemetery.

Schmitt, Delton Howard, son of Samuel and Sarah (Witmer) Schmitt, was born in Waterloo County, Ont., July 26, 1907; died of a massive heart attack at Kitchener, Ont., Apr. 20, 1979; aged 91 y. On Dec. 30, 1932, he was married to Beulah Weber, who survives. Also surviving are one son (Howard S., Schmitt), 2 daughters (Mrs. Ralph Shantz and Betty-Mrs. William Martin), 5 grandchildren, 3 brothers (Loren, Harold, and Edward), and 3 sisters (Edna-Mrs. Harold Schiedel, Rita-Mrs. Clifford Knechtel, and Ethel-Mrs. Also Bauman). He was a member of Manheim Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Apr. 23, in charge of James Reussser, and Howard Schmitt; interment in Manheim Mennonite Cemetery.
