Beloved husband of Verna Hilborn and dear father of Brian, Kenneth and Colin of Cambridge, Keith and his wife Maria of Clyde, Susan and her husband Brad Richards, Sherry and her husband James Buckan of Cambridge. Loving grandfather of Shawn, Shannon, Hollie, Jillian and Spencer Peer, Charlene and Oriel Buckan. Also survived by three sisters, Margaret (Mrs. Arthur Gibbons) of Guelph, Mrs. Joyce Sugrue of Ottawa, Evelyn (Mrs. Don Brown) of Trenton and sister-in-law, Gladys Peer of Guelph. Predeceased by one granddaughter, Amanda; two brothers, William and Leonard; one sister, Bertha. Mr. Peer was born in Guelph, a resident of Cambridge for 38 years, employed at Inglis Ltd., of Cambridge and a member of the Preston Royal Canadian Legion Branch 126. Friends will be received at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge, today (Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service at the funeral home, Saturday, at 1: 30 p.m. Interment in Parklawn cemetery.
