  GINGERICH, Donald Bertram\emdash It is with both sadness and joy, that the family of Don Gingerich, announces his sudden passing, on November 19, 1997at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, in his 78th year. As he lived, so he died, surrounded by his loving family. Lovingly remembered by his wife, Frances (Litt); dearly loved father of Carol and Steve O'Neil of Stittsville, Susan and Cam Ballantyne of Kitchener and Paul and Dawn Gingerich of Waterloo; proud grandfather of Andrew, Jeff, Justin, Kyle, Dylan and Karly. Sadly missed by his sister, June and her husband Harry Fishbein and his brother, Glen Gingerich and his wife Ruth. Brother-in-law of Loreen Gingerich, Doris Gingerich, Elsie Gingerich and Edwin Evans. Predeceased by his parents, Aaron Gingerich and Alberta Nelson; sisters, Thelma, Milta, Dorothy, Mary, Gloria and brothers, Percy, Albert (Hap) and Oliver. Don was a dedicated employee of Nelco Company Ltd. for 49 years. He was a faithful member of Calvary United Church where he served as organist and choir director for 42 years, taught Sunday School and actively served on many committees. Also in his retirement he tirelessly volunteered at nursing and retirement homes as organist for chapel services. The family will receive friends at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A private family committal service will be held Saturday followed by a service of celebration at Calvary United Church at 2 p.m., with Rev. Karl Sievert officiating. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Outreach Mission of Calvary United Church, The Bible Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the charity of your choice. Don's gracious spirit and giving heart endeared him to everyone he touched. We will remember him for his unconditional love of family and friends. The Record 20 Nov 1997
