      Passed away peacefully, at Innisfree House after a courageous battle with cancer, on Monday, August 10, 2015. Doug was born in Kitchener on October 4, 1947 and was the son of the late Lauretta and Zienas Martin. Best friend and loving husband of Margaret Martin (nee Wideman). Dearest father to Suzanne (Chris) Schaefer, Tara (Yvon) Deschenes and Chad (Jesi) Martin. Best Papa to Hanna, Ryan, Sebastien, Keagan and Marcus. Dear brother of Judith (Terry) Jutzi, brothers and sisters-in-law; Janet and John Bender, Howard and Carolyn Wideman, Karen and Glen Kimmel, Grace and Bob Veitch. Lovingly remembered by Aunts; Emma Brubacher and Elsie Cathrea, Uncle; George Maurer and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Doug was a long time employee of Weber Supply. After his stroke in 2006, he became the President of the Stroke Recovery Association Cambridge, was actively involved with the March of Dimes Program, Linking Survivors With Survivors and a faithful member of Preston Mennonite Church. He was also a long time cottager, at Chesley Lake. Doug's family will receive relatives and friends during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home 171 King St. S., Waterloo, today (Wednesday, August 12, 2015) from 7-9 p.m. On Thursday, August 13, visitation will take place at Preston Mennonite Church, 791 Concession Rd., Cambridge from 1-3 p.m. Visitation continues back at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, Thursday evening, from 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate his life will take place at Preston Mennonite Church on Friday, August 14, 2015, at 11 a.m. Pastor Claire Osinkosky officiating. Reception will follow in the church hall. Interment in Hagey Cemetery, following the reception.
