- Duncan F. PollockPRESTON, Duncan F. Pollock, of 350 Laurel St., died at his home, Sunday. He was 78. Mr. Pollock was born in Toronto and resided in Preston, for three years. He was employed at Royal Metal Industries in Galt, from where he retired in 1958. He was active in sports and was presented the Ontario Minor Hockey Association award for outstanding service in minor hockey, from 1954-1955. He was a veteran of the First World War and a member of the Preston Royal Canadian Legion. Surviving are his wife, the former Mae Hascarl; one son, Charles of Ottawa; two daughters, Mrs. Albert (Jean) Poole and Mrs. Leonard (Dorothy) Young, both of Toronto; one brother, Douglas of Toronto; one sister,Mrs. Kate Ross, of Toronto and seven grandchildren. The body is at Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, where service will be held, Wednesday, at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Preston cemetery. A memorial service by the legion will be held at the funeral home Tuesday, at 7: 30 p.m.
