Well Known Barrister of Midland Had Been Ailing for Some Months
The death or Major Duncan S. Storey, of Midland, formerly of the 162nd Battalion of Parry Sound, occurred at the Toronto Base Hospital, Sunday night, after an illness of several months, he having been admitted to hospital on July 31 of last year suffering from cancer. Major Storey was a married man, 43 years of age and was a barrister by profession, having an office in Midland, prior to joining the 162nd. The late Major had a wide military experience, receiving his early training with the Queen's Own Regiment, while in Toronto, in his younger days as a student at Osgoode Hall. He entered the regiment in 1895 as a private and when he completed his course had risen to the commissioned ranks. In the North he joined the 23rd Northern Fusiliers of Parry Sound, with which unit he received his appointment as Major in 1909. Major Storey was married to Miss Ottilie Snyder, daughter of Mrs. F. Snyder, 66 Queen Street north. He is being brought here for burial. Funeral services will be held at Mt.
