- EDNA MARGUERITE KNARR (nee Schiedel) 1914 - 2009 Passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2009 at St. Mary's General Hospital in Kitchener at the age of 95. She was a longtime neighbour and friend to those around her on Whitmore Drive, Waterloo. Beloved wife of the late Ed Knarr. Dear mother of Ruth Auger Bauer of Cambridge. Lovingly remembered by grandchildren, Jean Pierre Auger (Pam), Marc Auger (Rose) and Claudine Haid (Al), as well by her great-grandchildren, Alex, Matthew, Danielle, Justin, Beth and Brenda. Survived by sister, Dorothy McKee (George); brother, Jack Schiedel (Charlotte); sister-in-law, Inez Schiedel; and niece, Sandi Schiedel. Predeceased by her parents, Lavina Schmidt and Lanson Schiedel; her sister, Mary Tatham (Joe); brothers, Harold Schiedel (Edna), Wilfred Schiedel (Marjorie) and Carl Schiedel (Jean); and her nephew, Donavon Schiedel. Edna was a longtime member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, active in the choir and ELW for many years. In celebration of Edna's life, a memorial service will be held at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 825 King St. W., Kitchener on Monday, June 15, 2009 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Liz Kuglin-Alyea officiating. Reception will follow the service in the Church Hall. Donations in memory of Edna may be made to Global Hunger (through St. Mark's Lutheran Church) or to St. Mark's Lutheran Church and can be arranged through the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King St. S., Waterloo, 519-745-8445 or www.erbgood.com. In living memory of Edna, a donation will be made to the Trees for Learning Program by the funeral home.
