    • Mother of Local Woman Taken by Death Friday

      Mrs. Elizabeth A. Schofield, 74, of 27353 Groveland, Royal Oak, mother of Mrs. Don M. Barbier, died Friday afternoon at her home after a long illness. She had been a resident of Detroit and vicinity for the past 60 years, coming from Guelph, Ont., Canada. She was a member of the Royal Oak Church of Christ.

      Besides the daughter in Lansing she is survived by the husband, Edward Schofield: three other daughters, Mrs. Lester Johnson of San Diego, Cal, Mrs. Walter Mathews of Kingsford, and Mrs. Ernest Bar- ker of Detroit; two sons, David of Detroit and Walter of Van Dyke: three sisters, Mrs. William Armstrong of London, Ont., Mrs. Ida Menzel of Spring Grove, Va., and Mrs. Ethel Russell of Detroit, and nine grandchildren.

      The body was removed to the Rigley funeral home, 12712 Livernois avenue, Detroit, where funeral serv- ices will be held Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, with Rev. Claud Witty officiating. Interment will be in Roseland Park cemetery, Royal Oak.
