    • MAZUR, Elias (Alec) - Of 30 St. Leger St., Kitchener, at Freeport Hospital, on Saturday, June 16, 1984,after a lengthy illness, in his 84th year. He was born in Kariw, Western Ukraine, on August 21, 1900. A son of the late Stephen Mazur and Dora Ostaszewska. He was the last surviving member of his family.

      Predeceased by two brothers, Maxim and Ivan and one sister, Malania. Beloved husband of Olga Wojakowska; dear father of Genevieve (Mrs. Walter Dzura) of Thornhill, Sophie (Mrs. Bill Lavigne) of Kitchener, Steve and his wife Ann of Kitchener. Also survived by grandchildren, Darlene, Angela and Sonia Dzura, Steve, Robert and Maureen Lavigne, Paul, Cathy, David and Susan Mazur.

      He was a member of the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Transfiguration, Kitchener and had been active in many church activities.

      Visitation at the SchreiterSandrock Funeral Home and Chapel, 51 Benton at Church St., Kitchener, where the Panachyda will be recited at 8 p.m. this evening. Prayers will be said at the funeral home Tuesday at 8:30 a.m., followed by a 9 a.m. mass of Christian burial at the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Transfiguration, Rev. Isidor Wasik officiating. Interment Woodland cemetery.

      Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Holy Spirit Ukrainian Catholic Seminary, as expressions of sympathy, would be appreciated.
