- MR. ERVIN C. McNALLY
One of the largest funerals in this city, in many months, was held yesterday afternoon at two o clock, when services were conducted for Mr. Ervin Clayton McNally, well-known and respected member of the community for many years, at his late home 879 Welland Ayenue,
The services were attended by sorrowing relatives, friends, civic officials and officials of Morrison Street United Church, which the deceased was a valued worker, and also held the position of elder. President A. B. Robertson, representing the Chamber of Commerce; President W. B. Gunning, and members of the Kiwanis Club, who attended in a body, druggists of the city, representatives of the Retail Merchants Association, and wholsale houses throughout the province; representatives of the United Drug Company of Toronto, and also of the Neilson Company, Toronto.
Rev. E. A. Chester, pastor of Morrison Street Church, and Rev. T. R. Todd, of Simcoe, Ontario, former minister of the church, conducted the services, and Rev. Finlay G. Stewart, on behalf of the Kiwanis Club read a tribute from that ororganization.
Members of the Kiwanis Club and the druggists of city formed a guard of honor at the home and grave.
Tributes of esteem and of deep sympathy extended to the family, in their sad bereavement, were evidenced in the profusion of exquisite floral offerings, which were banked about the casket, filling the entire room. Interment was made in. Fairview cemetery.
The pall bearers were; Messrs R. C. Young, C. W. Doan, Dr. J. H. Davidson, William Hodgkins and H. P. Stephens. The following eulogy was delivered by Rev. F. G. Stewart at the Kiwanis Club and at the service.
It is very noticeable to the casual observer that some deep shadow has cast its darkness over the usual happy personalities of this club. It is rather unusual that during our entire life as a club Erwin is the first to be called to a higher service. Though we shall miss his tellowship, his kindliness and his helpful service, and I am sure as group of his friends we do extend to his immediate family our deepest sympathy, and trust that in their hearts as well as ours there may be a deep and abiding trust that earth is not man's only habitation....
