  SCHWASS, Ezra In Stratford General Hospital, on Tuesday, June 16, 1998, Ezra John Schwass, of Tavistock, in his 96th year. Mr. Schwass farmed in South Easthope township for many years after which time he resided in Baden,. Shakespeare and Tavistock. He was a member of Grace United Church and a former member of the church board.. He was predeceased by his wife on August 1, 1968, the former Vera Geiger, whom he had married at New Dundee on November 6, 1937. He was also predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Catherine (Vogt) Schwass; his son, William Laverne Schwass; his son-in- law, Vincent Rumig; his grandson, Daniel Wayne Hatch; his sisters, Sarah Osbourne and Annie Wardrop; his brothers, Henry Schwass, Daniel Schwass, Arthur Schwass and Milton Schwass and his sister-in-law, Ada Geiger. He is survived by his children, Howard and his wife Esther Schwass of Tavistock, Margaret and her husband Bill Tugwood of London, Vernon and his wife Linda Schwass of Tavistock and Jean Rumig of Stratford; nine grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Francis Funeral Home, 77 Woodstock St. N., Tavistock, today (Wednesday) from 5-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 18, 1998 at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Robert Biggar will officiate. Interment in New Dundee Union Cemetery. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution are asked to consider the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Palliative Care Unit of Stratford General Hospital.
