Notes |
- BRICKELL, FREDERICK
At his residence in Puslinch, on Sunday morning, February 1st 1903, aged 59. He had been ill for some weeks with pneumonia. A well-known resident, Mr. Brickell was born at Brual, Germany on August 11, 1844 and came out to this country with his father in 1852, settling at Mosboro. Thirty-two years ago, he removed to the Parker farm in Puslinch, subsequently purchasing the Tobin property, where he has since resided. By dint of hard work and with the assistance of his good wife and in later years, his sons, he succeeded in placing himself and his family in comfortable circumstances. There survive to mourn his loss, besides his widow, one daughter, Mary, at home and five sons: Henry of Carberry, Manitoba; John of Preston; Adam, Philip and Joseph, at home. Mr. Brickell was an ardent sportsman, took great enjoyment out of a day's hunting and was a good shot. He was well known and highly esteemed - a most companionable fellow. He had a host of friends in Hespeler. The funeral left his residence on concession 4 on Tuesday at 2, reached the Church of Our Lady at 3: 30. A large number of friends and acquaintances were present. Services at the church were conducted by Rev. Father Kenny and at the grave by Rev. Father O'Loane. Pallbearers: Thomas Bedford, Stephen Laidley, John Hanlon, Patrick Hanlon, Henry Snider and George McGill.
-Information from the death certificate: Of lot 12, concession 4 in Puslinch. Death ensued after 24 days with pneumonia.
