- RAYMOND, Garfield At K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 1995 age 80 years of Kitchener.
Garfield was born in Kitchener, August 8, 1915 and was a son of the late Margaret Dotzert and Gordon Raymond. Garfield was the former owner of Garfield Glove Company in Waterloo and after retiring from the glove business, was a sales agent for Lutheran Life Insurance and then worked at Raymond's Flower Shop. He was an active charter member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church and for many years had been very active in young people's work in the Lutheran Canada Synod.
Gar was the beloved husband of Helen Otterbein; dear father of Carol and Joanne. He is also survived by his sister, Onnerene and her husband Lester Brox; a brother, Kenneth Raymond and his wife Pauline and a brother-in-law, Robert Cotey. Garfield was also predeceased by his sisters, Margaret Raymond and Esther Cotey.
Gar's family will receive friends at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo from 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday. The funeral service will be held at Mount Zion Lutheran Church on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Mark Harris officiating. Interment in Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
