      Of Cambridge, passed away, peacefully, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on his 46th wedding anniversary, on Monday, Sept. 22, 1997, in his 69th year. Born February 1, 1929 in Bracebridge. Beloved husband of Ruth (nee Holinshead); loving father of Barbara and her husband Phillip Ruetz of Kitchener, Whitney and his wife Cathy of Cambridge. Predeceased by his son, Douglas. Son of Teresa Kay and the late Whitney Kay of Bracebridge. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Matthew, Tyler and Jason Ruetz and Lindsay, Jocelyn and Whitney Jr. Kay; brother of Ken and Dorothy Kay of Earfalls, Jac and Elaine Kay of Phoenix, Ariz., Ron and Bess Kay of Dartmouth, N.S., Rosemary Ramsay of Kitchener, Shirley and Gary Hillman of Bracebridge, Marie and Cory Wilson of Stouffville, Bruce and Joan Kay of Georgetown. Predeceased by his brother, Ralph. Garnet is survived by his sister-in-law, Shirley McDougal of Orillia; brother-in-law, Ernie Holinshead of Huntsville. He was predeceased by his sister-in-law. Audrey Holinshead. Retired from Overland Express TNT (1985-1990). Garnet also worked for Dominion Consolidated Truck Lines for 33 years. Member of Teamsters Union Local 879 Hamilton for 35 years. Served as a trustee on the executive board of Teamsters Union and Health and Welfare board for 23 years. He coached Centreville Hockey and Kitchener Minor Hockey and worked with Kitchener Minor Lacrosse. Member of Christ the King United Church. He will always be loved and remembered by all. The family will receive friends at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge, today (Wednesday) from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Christ the King United Church, 167 Thaler Ave., Kitchener. Interment at Parklawn Cemetery.
