- UNTIMELY DEATH OF LATE AMASA STROHM
POPULAR YOUNG MAN IS VICTIM OF PNEUMONIA - IMPRESSIVE FUNERAL
A popular you resident of Elmira passed away last Friday In the person of Mr. George Amasa Strohm, aged thirty-three years. He was ill less than a week having worked as usual on the Saturday preceding. Attacked by the influenza, he developed an acute case of pleural pneumonia and though he made a heroic fight, be succumbed in a few days.
The late Mr. Strohm was born is Kitchener, but came here when four years of age following the death of his father, the late Jeremiah Strohm. He has resided here ever since with the exception of short period spent out West and again In Waterloo.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Henry Heipel of Elmira. as well as by his step-father Mr. Heipel. four sisters and two brothers are also left as follows: Mrs. Jacob Conrad of Elmira, Mrs. E. G. Shierholts of Kitchener Mrs. O. Hollinger of Elmira, and Miss Permilda Heipel of Elmira; Mr. Clarence Strohm of Detroit and M. Cecil Heipel of Elmira.
The funeral of the late Mr. Strohm was very largely attended on Sunday afternoon, the church being filled to capacity with friends from far and near. A very impressive sermon was delivered by Rev. J. Strempfer. The flowers were numerous and most beautiful and are as follows:-

The pallbearers were: Mr. Walter Hollinger, Mr. Reuben Cleghorn, Mr. Oscar Wahl, Mr. Alvin Brubacher, Mr. Floyd Moyer and Mr. Albert Kehl.
Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral, were: Mrs. Frank, Van Deventer of Hamilton, Mr. Clarence Strohm of Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Schierholtz, Miss Helen Schierholtz and Master Vernon Schierholtz and Mrs. Edward Class, all of Kitchener; Miss Sylvia Miller, of Waterloo; Mr. Ian Kneutzweiser and Mr. H. Hahn of Linwood: Mr. and Mrs. George Kehl of Listowel and Mrs. Herbert Snyder of Heidelberg.
