  In the 1920s & 1930s many relatives of the Springer family had attorneys file individual suits against Wilmington, Del. seeking the restoration of 800 acres of land on which Wilmington is built and which, was twice leased on 99 year contracts since the death of CHARLES SPRINGER, the original owner. My great grandfather George Gideon Scott lost his fortune while living in Detroit Michigan and paying lawyers in New York to try to collect on some $ 500,000,000 in Wilmington, De. of the riches that the 2,000 Springer Heirs hoped to divide among themselves.
