- CAPT. GEORGE INSOLE
Capt. George Insole, Galt, brother of Capt. Reginald R. Insole, Barriefield, died at Westminster Hospital, London, where he had been ill following a stroke. Capt. Insole was a native of Hamilton, the elder son of the late Mr. and Mrs. B. C. Insole, and was a veteran of both wars. He went overseas as a quartermaster of the 24th Field Ambulance and later transferred to Basingstoke Neurological and Plastic Surgery Hospital, returning home a few months ago.
Surviving besides his widow are a son, Peter George Insole; a sister, Mrs. Edward Smyth, Kitchener, and a brother, Capt. R. R. Insole of Whitby and Barriefield.
___________
Kitchener Officer Is Quartermaster
Lieut. George H. B. Insole of Kitchener has been appointed quartermaster of No. 24 Field Ambulance, Lieut.-Col. R. G. Ratz, officer commanding the unit, announced to-day, There are still two medical officers needed to bring the officer personnel up to full strength, the colonel said.
Approximately 90 men have been attested to the unit to date, and additional men were medically examined this afternoon, Col. Ratz said.
After this afternoon's session the board will not sit again until Monday although recruiting will continue tomorrow, but not on Sunday.
Men who enlist are being given a week's leave of absence from the unit. It is likely that uniforms will be provided for them when they move to barracks at Listowel.
