    • SCHWEITZER, Marion - Peacefully at Leisureworld Caregiving Centre, Elmira, on Thursday, September 2, 2004. The former Geraldine Marion Northcott, formerly of Glasgow Street, Kitchener, age 95 years. Marion was a teacher of English and French in high schools in Parry Sound, Long Branch and K.C.L. in Kitchener from 1934-1955. She was a long time member of First United Church, Waterloo and was very active in the women's organizations at the Church serving as an early President of the U.C.W. She was a graduate of McMaster University, Hamilton and College of Education, Toronto. She was a member of the President's Club of McMaster University and a member of Wilfred Laurier University Chancellor's Club. Marion and her late husband, Wilfred, who was a graduate of Waterloo College, also supported the work and development of St. Paul's College, University of Waterloo. She was a long time member of the Canadian University Women's Club, Waterloo, where she held different offices during her earlier years. She belonged to the original Book Group and was a member of the Pot Pourri Group for many years. Marion was also a member of the afternoon Duplicate Bridge Group. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Shirley Schweitzer, of Hawkesville, two grandchildren, David (Joanne) and Sara (Luke), and two great-granddaughters, Stephanie and Jessica. Predeceased by her parents Wilbert Northcott and Eleanor Coulter; her husband Wilfred (1989); her stepson Paul; and two sisters Dorothy and Helen. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, September 13, 2004, at 3: 00 p.m. at First United Church at 16 William St. W., Waterloo, with Reverend Rick Hawley officiating. In memory, donations may be made to The Marion Schweitzer Endowment Trust Fund of St. Paul's College, University of Waterloo, through the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 519-745-9495 or email: 1057@alderwoods.com
