    • Schedewitz, Gertrude May - At K-W Hospital, on Monday, June 4, 1984, following a lengthy illness, Gertrude May Merklinger, a resident of Pinehaven Nursing home, formerly of Queen Street North, Kitchener, aged 85. Beloved wife of Howard W. Schedewitz; dear mother of Mrs. Joan Blackie of Toronto and Mrs. Jean O'Leavey of Kitchener; sister of Peter of Tavistock, Arthur of Oakville and Louie and Edward, both of Orillia; loving grandmother of Susan (Mrs. Patrick Legris) of Ottawa, Barbara (Mrs. Joseph Streker) of Binbrook , Robert Blackie of Oakville and Mark O'Leavey of Kitchener. Predeceased by her brother, John and her sister, Margaret. Past president of St. Paul's Lutheran Ladies Aid; past social sponsor and honorary member of Preceptor Alpha Sigma of Beta Sigma PHI Sorority; a member of the Women's Guild of St. Paul's Lutheran Church; a member of the Women's Lutheran Missionary League and an honorary member of the K-W Garden Club. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, after 7 pm today. Funeral service at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on Thursday at 2: 30 pm with Rev. Roger Winger officiating. Interment to follow in Woodland Cemetery. The Beta Sigma PHI will hold a memorial service Wednesday evening at 8: 30 pm.
