- SNYDER, Gertrude "Gert" (Mrs. Robert D.) - Peacefully, on Monday, September 3, 2007, at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital. Gert (Taylor) Snyder, in her 75th year of RR 1, West Montrose. Beloved wife of Robert Snyder for 51 years. Dear mother and grandmother of Peter and Melissa, Joseph and Lauren of RR 1, West Montrose, Graham and Sherry, Jesse, Tosha, Cody, and Whitney of RR 1, Breslau, Cindy and Nick Huitema, Stephanie, Nicole, Charlotte and John of Canfield, Tom and Darlene, Jennifer, Scott and Julie of RR 1, West Montrose, Carolyn and Ron Stanley, Adam and Rebecca of Waterloo, Betty Ann and Ralph Wilhelm and Sam of Brights Grove. Also survived by sisters, Vi Grant, Marion Mather and brother, Don and Marion Taylor and sister-in-law to Dorothy Taylor, Vicky Taylor, Al Campbell, Bill and Aileen Snyder, Carl and Kathleen Snyder and by her many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by her parents, Harry and Barbara Taylor; brothers, Bill, Norman and Harold Taylor and sisters, Laura Fairbairn, Stella Sieb and Dorothy Campbell. At Gert's request, cremation has taken place. The Snyder family will receive friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home , Elmira, (this evening) Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Service to celebrate Gert's life will be held at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Conestogo, on Friday, September 7, 2007 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Monika Wiesner officiating. In her memory, donations to St. Matthews Lutheran Church Building Fund would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy. The family wishes to thank the Community Care Access ladies who have provided Home Care through her battle with Parkinson's Disease and the emergency personnel for their services on Saturday.
