  STEEL, Gilbert (Gib) Of 431 Moore St. Cambridge, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on Tuesday, April 12, 1983, in his 68th year. Beloved husband of Irene Ellis; dear father of Howard of Cambridge, Mary (Mrs. Daniel Quigley) of Queenston and Carol (Mrs. Kenneth Waterman) of Kitchener. Lovingly remembered by seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Dear brother of Frederick of Sudbury and Vern of Cambridge. Mr. Steel was born in Fergus and lived all his life in Cambridge (P); he was a retired supervisor of Newlands Textiles Inc., where he had been employed, for the past 45 years; a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 126; a veteran of the Second World War, serving in the Canadian Navy. Resting at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge, where the family will receive friends this evening 7-9 p.m. and Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, April 15, 1983, at 2 p.m. Interment Parklawn cemetery.
