  The family of Gord Kaufman sadly announces his death on November 23rd, 2017 in his 89th year. Gord was the beloved husband of Ruth (Robertson) for more than 67 years. He is survived by 6 children, 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Gord was a lifetime educator teaching at schools in Oxford County, Timmins, Brantford, Cobourg, and Guelph. He was a proud social democrat, active in the CCF and the NDP wherever he lived. Gord will be missed by friends and extended family. Together with Ruth, he travelled the world and never passed on an opportunity to take a spin on the dance floor. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to a cause or charity of your choice. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Gord's life will be held on Friday, December 8th, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at Harcourt United Church, 87 Dean Ave., Guelph. Reception to follow. A tree will be planted in memory of Gordon C. Kaufman in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum.
