- Has gone home to his Lord and Saviour. Gordon, born September 22, 1918 passed away Thursday August 16, 2012 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital. He leaves behind his wife Ruth (Pilkington Rayment) and his children: Evelyn and Bill Nicholson of Airdrie, AB; Valena McBain of Sylvan Lake, AB; Hubert and Joyce Rennie of Elora, ON; Mary George and Dan Donaldson of Waterloo, ON; John and Harriet Rennie of Guelph, ON; Ruth and Rick Caskenette of Kitchener, ON; Gerald Rennie of Cambridge, ON; Jean and Neil Davis of Hinton, AB plus his step-children: John Rayment and Joyce Rigaux of Sechelt, BC; Frank and Marion Rayment of Neerlandia, AB and Eric and Ruby Rayment of Edmonton, AB. Loving grandfather to many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Also, survived by his in-laws Jim Esch, Joan Esch and Velma Strong.
Gordon was predeceased by his first wife Ruby Esch (October 23, 1981), his parents George and Lily Rennie, sisters Helen Stewart and Edith Hutchinson, his son-in-law Ron McBain (2010) and in-laws Bob Hutchinson and Alex Stewart, Walter and Jeanette Esch, Pearl and Ed Scherer, Ken Esch, Keith Strong and Ricki Esch. Gordon was born on the Rennie farm near Belwood and joined the army in 1941 serving until 1944. He retired from Kingsway Transportation in Kitchener in 1983. Gordon is resting at Lounsbury Funeral, 1766 Franklin Blvd., Cambridge where friends will be received on Monday August 20 from 6-9 pm. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesdsay August 21 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bibles for Missions, World Vision, or charity of one's choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
