- Cambridge SNYDER Gordon Leander - At Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on Tuesday January 20, 2004, in his 86th year
He was the last survivor of the children of the late Leander and Elmina (Kraft) Snyder.
Dear father of Douglas and his wife Nancy of Dundas, Reginald of Waterloo, Thomas and his wife Bonnie of Kitchener, Michael and his wife. Bonnie of Kitchener, Barrie and his wife Linda of Ottawa, Catherine Snyder of Cambridge. Also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Predeceased by his wife, Eileen Fos ter (1998); brothers, Harold, Arthur and Stuart and sisters, Laurene Shantz, Nora Weber and Eva Shantz.
Mr. Snyder was born in Waterloo Township on October 22, 1918 and has been a resident of the area most of his life. He retired in 1983 after 27 years with Avco New Idea Farm Equipment and was a member of St. John's Anglican Church. He served as air crew with the 101 squadron of the R.A.F. in Europe during the Second World War.
The family will receive friends at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd. Cambridge on Thursday January 22, 2004 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will take place at St. John's Anglican Church, 567 Queenston Rd., on Friday, January 23, 2004, at 1:30 p.m. Interment will take place at the Park Lawn Cemetery,Cambridge.
