- BOGLE, Gordon N. - Of Hamilton Street, Cambridge on Sunday, January 4, 1998 at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital in his 88th year. Beloved husband for the past 64 years of Marguerite Smith. Dear father of Robert of Cambridge. Lovingly remembered by three grandchildren, Gordon, Christopher, and Jennifer, and two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Emily. Sadly missed by his sister Edna Wagner of Ingersol and his step-brother Allan Binder of Waterloo. Predeceased by his parents Edward and Mary Bogle, his daughter Donna Crawford (1971) and his brother Walter. Mr. Bogle was born in Luther Township and was a long-time resident of Cambridge. For 30 years he was the Chief of the Preston Police Department retiring in 1968. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church, life member of the Preston/Hespeler Masonic Lodge and a life member of the Chief Constables Association of Canada. Friends will be received at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Funeral and Committal Services will be conducted at the Funeral Home on Thursday, January 8, 1998 at 1: 30 pm. Interment following in Preston Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation Palliative Care would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
